A story claiming Kim Kardashian "promised" Khloe Kardashian that she'll "be nicer" when talking about Tristan Thompson was made-up. Gossip Cop can bust the seemingly fabricated report. A close look at the claims, the timing of this narrative and reporting from actually reliable outlets expose this purported "exclusive" as a sham.

The article in question comes from HollywoodLife, which on Monday night claimed to have "exclusive details" on why Kim is "vowing to be careful when speaking about [Thompson] going forward." The site brings up her interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," in which she called the NBA player's infidelity "just so [expletive] up." A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Khloe was furious with Kim after she slammed Tristan on her last appearance on 'Ellen.'"

It's specifically alleged the famous siblings "had a huge fight that ended with Khloe fighting back tears as she yelled at her older sister to be more supportive." The blog's alleged tipster contends Khloe "begged Kim to be more careful and sensitive with her words in future appearances," prompting Kim to not only apologize, but to also promise to be "nicer and more careful" in upcoming interviews. There are a few signs within these allegations that site's supposed insight is made-up.

First, consider the timeline: Kim's comments on "Ellen" were released in preview form on April 27, before the interview was broadcast on April 30. Now on May 14, after two weeks have gone by, HollywoodLies, as the outlet is nicknamed, wants readers to believe it just discovered that the appearance prompted a secret "fight" between Kim and Khloe. And as part of the purported argument, it's asserted Kim vowed to be "nicer... ahead of her next round of interviews." At this point, that "next round" has already taken place. Kim spoke about Khloe and Thompson on the May 11 episode of "Live with Kelly and Ryan." The online publication is pretending to have inside knowledge, but is suspiciously doing so after the fact.

Next, consider what exactly is being alleged. The story claims Kim was chastised for not being "supportive" and was urged to be "nicer" when it comes to Thompson. But look at what she actually said on the "Ellen" show: "The family gets so emotionally invested with whoever each other is with. We treat them like family... We really were rooting for Khloe, and we still are." Kim then shared a "rule" that she has, where "if there's a baby involved... I'm gonna keep it cute, keep is classy and not talk too bad." She went on, "I'm gonna try not to say anything so negative, because one day True is going to see this."

In other words, Kim explicitly expressed her support for Khloe, and refused to specifically talk badly about Thompson. The HollywoodLies version of events wrongly makes it seem like she did the opposite. It is illogical to allege Khloe is demanding her sister be "more careful and sensitive" when that's exactly what she already was. Lastly, consider that not one credible media outlet reported anything about Kim's "Ellen" appearance sparking a dispute about Thompson.

In contrast, on Monday E! Online actually ran a story about Khloe's first Mother's Day, in which it was specifically noted, "Khloe has been talking to [Kim] the most." The outlet, which is essentially a mouthpiece for its "Keeping Up With The Kardashian" stars, added, "They aren't talking about [Thompson] at all. Khloe isn't bringing it up and they just talk about True and motherhood."

That goes directly against the HollywoodLies narrative about Thompson-fueled clash. So, the website is offering up claims that don't make sense in terms of timing or context, and that are contradicted by a far more credible resource. It's clear its "exclusive" was made-up, and poorly so.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
