Kim Kardashian and Kanye West did not have a "trial separation," despite a new report that was picked up by a slew of other outlets that didn't fact-check the untrue claim. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We're told it's "false."
According to Life & Style, shortly before Kardashian gushed on her third wedding anniversary on May 24 that West was the "best husband and father," their relationship was allegedly "so bad" they had gone through a "trial separation." The tabloid claims West's recent "absence from his wife's side" was because their marriage was "crumbling," and quotes a so-called "insider" as saying the rapper "wanted a break from Kim and his life with her." During that purported six-week "trial separation," asserts one of the the publication's unnamed sources, Kardashian began "trying to make a new life for herself." The same supposed source contends, "They're on different paths, and don't connect anymore," prompting their "friends" to get "worried the split would become permanent."
Of course, the often disproven magazine doesn't mention the names of any of those friends who it claims were afraid that West and Kardashian were divorcing. And conveniently, the tabloid covers its tracks by having its highly suspect sources throw in how the couple is now "trying to make it work," and that Kardashian wants "to give their marriage one more shot." The untrue article ends with a seemingly made-up insider maintaining, "[Kardashian] hopes the trial separation will make them realize how much they do love each other."
So, Kardashian and West had a "trial separation" that no one else knew about other the Life & Style, and now they're back together? Allow Gossip Cop to call bullsplit on this. West and Kardashian never separated. He went to Wyoming to work on a new album, but it had nothing to do with their relationship being "so bad" or their marriage "crumbling." The tabloid simply took West's time away from his family as an excuse to concoct this fake "trial separation" story, and neatly covered itself by claiming they're giving their marriage "one more shot."
Life & Style has been wrongly claiming for years that Kardashian and West were splitting up. In 2014, the tabloid ran a handful of cover stories that untruthfully maintained Kardashian was "dumped." And before their son Saint was born, the magazine claimed Kardashian was "dumped" while pregnant. When that proved to be nothing more than a lie, the outlet came back with another cover that contended Kardashian was "dumped 4 days after giving birth." That, too, was a lie. And the current article about West and his wife having a "trial separation" is a lie, as well.
Unlike the many outlets that unfathomably took the tabloid's word and wrote up stories without checking its claims, Gossip Cop looked into this. Not one of our and Kardashian's friends could confirm the couple briefly split. Many similarly said it was another example of the magazine making up fake news. And a rep for Kardashian exclusively tells Gossip Cop the article is "false."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
