Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are hoping baby Chicago will save their marriage, according to a new report. Not only that, but the story also claims the couple want more kids for the same reason. Gossip Cop, however, can debunk the allegations.
The new issue of OK! Australia features the headline, "Kimye's $1 Million Baby: The Price Of Happiness?" It's alleged that although Chicago was just born two weeks ago, the newborn already has "the weight" of her parents' marriage "on her tiny shoulders." The gossip magazine claims a "divorce announcement seemed imminent" before this pregnancy, and asserts Kardashian is now "hoping that the baby can help her get her marriage back on track."
"She thinks it could help them bond together," claims a so-called "pal." From there, though, the Aussie tabloid plagiarizes from a January 16 People story about West being excited for his new daughter. The American outlet quoted an insider who said, "Kanye says that his children have saved his life," says the source. "This one in particular came along after a very dark time. He's so in love with his kids." Now the magazine from Down Under maintains a "friend" told them, "This one in particular came along after a very dark time. He's so in love with his kids."
Clearly that tabloid doesn't have real sources of its own and mistakenly thinks it can get away with passing off another magazine's work as its own. (See screengrab below.) OK! goes on to allege Kardashian and West's newborn has already "cost them nearly $1 million," and contends "things may be about to get even more expensive" because they're now "discussing surrogate options for another baby, or better yet, twins." Its fake tipster supposedly relates, "Kim's hyper-focused when it comes to planning her future and as of now, the plan is to have twins in 2018." A Google search indicates that quote is actually plagiarized from a Heat story that came out earlier this month.
To be clear, the publication copied something truthful from one place (West is happy about having multiple children) and something false from another (the couple is now planning for more kids). For the most part, the article is inaccurate. Chicago wasn't brought into the world to save Kardashian and West's marriage, nor would that be the reason to expand their family further. Growing their brood some more isn't even in the works right now. Just days ago, Kardashian called out "fake news" claims on Twitter after it was alleged she's already eyeing her surrogate to carry more children for her. This tale belongs in the trash heap, too.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
