Is Kim Kardashian warning Kanye West that he either checks into a psych ward or she'll check out of their marriage and divorce him? That's the claim from one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, can debunk the story.

According to Star, following West's recent Twitter rant about Drake, Kardashian decided that either West gets help or she'll divorce him. A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star wants her husband to "seek an extended period of help, where he can face all his problems head-on." The same supposed source continues, "Kim can't live her life this way anymore. She wants a happy, healthy husband and not someone she's constantly worried about."

"[Kardashian] wants him to quit Twitter, take his meds and enter a hospital," adds the alleged tipster, who notes it's not just for her but also for their three kids. The purported "insider" goes on to maintain, "If Kanye doesn't listen to her or take her seriously, she'll go ahead and start divorce proceedings." Kardashian will do "what she has to do, hoping it forces Kanye to get the help he so desperately needs," asserts the source.

While Kardashian doesn't always see eye-to-eye with West, who was hospitalized and put on a psychiatric hold in 2016, she doesn't currently see a reason for him to seek treatment, nor is she threatening to divorce him. The reality star has weathered many of West's Twitter storms, and has always had his back. In fact, in April Kardashian tweeted her support for West when she wrote, "To the media trying to demonize my husband... your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary." She added, "So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair."

Gossip Cop checked in with several people close to the couple, and not one could confirm the tabloid's latest premise. We also reached out to reps for Kardashian. Of course, contrary to the claim that she "can't live her life this way anymore," Kardashian was spotted lovingly kissing West on the balcony of their new Miami home on Friday. Additionally, if she were truly thinking of divorcing him, Kardashian wouldn't be having a fourth child via a surrogate with West.

It bears mentioning Star has been falsely contending the couple is splitting up for years. Recently, Gossip Cop busted the magazine when it wrongly reported Kardashian wanted to divorce West for meeting with the president of Uganda, who passed anti-homosexuality laws in 2014. In reality, she posed for photos with President Yoweri Museveni and discussed promoting tourism and the arts in the East African country.

Before that, we corrected the tabloid when it ran a cover story in December 2017 that untruthfully asserted Kardashian and West were making a $1 billion divorce announcement because she was fed up with his "manic mood swings and crazed behavior." Gossip Cop also debunked same publication when it similarly claimed in June 2016 that Kardashian and West were getting a $1 billion divorce because of his "nonstop tantrums, tirades and meltdowns." And we exposed the outlet when it inaccurately maintained Kardashian and West were divorcing in February 2016. Maybe it's time for the magazine to divorce itself from this phony narrative.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
