One of this week's tabloids claims Kim Kardashian is divorcing Kanye West for meeting with the President Of Uganda. The story is false and filled with factual errors. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

Earlier this month, West and Kardashian both met with President Yoweri K. Museveni during a trip to Uganda, but Star is making it seem like the reality star wasn't happy about the rapper arranging the meeting with the African leader, who passed anti-homosexuality laws in 2014. The premise is illogical from the start. The spouses met with Museveni to discuss promoting arts and tourism in the country. Kardashian, who even posed for a photo with the leader, wouldn't have agreed to the get-together in the first place if she had a problem with it. Still, the magazine says "the meeting was the final straw for the reality star."

An alleged insider tells the magazine that Kardashian was also upset about West's meeting with President Donald Trump in the White House, and had "tried to get him back on his meds and even used the kids as a reason why he needs to, but Kanye isn't listening anymore." The supposed source adds, "Kim can see where things are heading and knows Kanye will only drag her down. Kanye wants to stay in Africa to finish his album, and she's told him to stay as long as he likes - because he's not welcome back home."

The questionable tipster goes on to say that Kardashian is "consulting with accountants and lawyers on how to make this break as quick as possible," adding, "Kim knows she gave her marriage her best shot, but it just wasn't enough." The seemingly phony source concludes, "She hopes this break will be the necessary shock to get Kanye back into a mental facility for treatment and medication."

As noted above, the magazine's article makes little sense, considering that the reality star accompanied her husband to Uganda. In fact, E! News noted that following the meeting with Museveni, West and Kardashian flew on the President's helicopter to attend a local charity event for children. People magazine also covered West and Kardashian's trip to Uganda, noting, "Kim and Kanye seem very happy together. They went on safari together and a private fishing trip with [daughter] North and they will visit the refugee camps together."

In addition to the tabloid's report lacking logic, Kardashian recently explained why she'll always stand by West regardless of his controversial opinions. During an interview on "The Messy Truth with Van Jones," the reality star admitted that her husband "might not be the best communicator" at times, "but he has the best heart and I know what he means." She added, "Anyone who has ever doubted us or me, he has always been there to hold my hand and lift me up higher and give me the confidence. So I'll always do the same for him."

Our Verdict
