Kim Kardashian never cut off Kanye West financially, despite a report from a year ago that claimed she was preparing for divorce. On January 5, 2017, Gossip Cop busted an In Touch report about a looming split. 365 days later, it remains untrue.
The story, titled, "Kim Vows: Kanye's Not Getting My Money," alleged Kardashian and West's marriage was "crumbling" and on the brink of ending. Though the tabloid acknowledged he just spent Christmas with the family, it was still declared, "They're done." But the gossip magazine had an excuse for why Kardashian supposedly wasn't filing for divorce just yet.
"Before Kim pulls the plug on what multiple sources say is a sham of a marriage, she's been advised to shore up her finances and protect her fortune," the outlet maintained, with a so-called "source" asserting, "She wants nothing more than to divorce Kanye, but she doesn't want to give him a dime." This alleged tipster went on to contend, "There are no assurances, even with an ironclad prenup, that Kanye won't go after Kim's money in the divorce proceedings. So Kim is getting ready to fight any attempt Kanye will make to get his hands on her millions."
Of course, in the year since, Kardashian still hasn't made any moves to end her marriage. So, what has happened over the last 12 months? Well, the couple marked their third wedding anniversary in May, celebrated West's birthday in June and Kardashian's birthday in October, and revealed in the fall that they're expecting a third child. With that new baby, the reality star is only intertwining her life with the rapper more, not separating it. And they remain linked financially, too.
For Christmas, West gifted Kardashian with stocks for Netflix and Disney, and they recently moved into their completed Hidden Hills home. Kardashian and West's mansion is now estimated to be worth $60 million following all of their renovations. Meanwhile, after that January report, In Touch again insisted Kardashian was going to divorce West in March 2017, and then peddled the bogus claims once more in May. More recently, the publication's sister outlet, Life & Style, picked up the phony narrative with a November cover story that announced a "divorce before baby #3."
Now the couple is set to welcome their new daughter this month, and there's still no real divorce on the horizon. Kardashian hasn't cut West off financially, but if the tabloid continues to remain cut off from reality, Gossip Cop will keep highlighting the truth.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
