Is Kim Kardashian creating toy dolls based on her family? That's the premise behind a new tabloid report. But Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim.
According to OK!, Kardashian is looking to market a collection of dolls, and she's already hired her 5-year-old daughter North to be the "chief doll officer." "Kim's involving her daughter in every step of the process, from how the dolls look to their clothing," a so-called "source" tells the tabloid. The reason behind the new venture, says a supposed "insider," is for Kardashian to "teach North that she's important and could lead a prosperous business someday, just like her mom," and to help her children "find success outside the entertainment business."
So, will the dolls be based just on Kardashian, Kanye West, and their three kids? Or will they also be fashioned after her sisters, brother, mom, nephews and nieces? Is one of the big toy manufacturing companies behind Kardashian's line of dolls? These and many other important details are left out of the tabloid's tale probably because it's all made up. A rep for Kardashian tells Gossip Cop on the record that the claim is false. There are no plans for her to market dolls made to look like family members.
This is not the first time, however, there's been speculation about the Kardashians being turned into dolls. Back in January 2012, E! reported there was a rumor that Barbie was going to create dolls of the three Kardashian sisters, but that ended up not being true. And in 2014, to mark the season finale of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," which featured Kardashian and West's wedding, a custom doll-making company named Celine's Dolls posted a photo on Instagram of figures it made of them and North.
Rather than designing toy dolls, Kardashian has been focused on her new KKW Beauty products. In late August, she released launched a new Ultralight Beams collection of powders and glosses. And just yesterday, Kardashian announced her Cherry Blossom collection of eyeshadows, blushes and lipsticks.
Regardless, Kardashian is not working with her daughter North to create likenesses of family members. It seems the magazine doesn't have the most reliable sources about the reality star. Several months ago, for instance, Gossip Cop busted the magazine when it wrongly claimed Kardashian was angling for an invite to Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry. Like that tale and others from the tabloid, the latest article can be tossed like an old, raggedy doll.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
