Kim Kardashian is not fighting with Kylie Jenner over what to call her newborn daughter, despite a new report about a "baby name shocker." This untrue story was seemingly manufactured just to capitalize on the news that Kardashian's surrogate gave birth. Gossip Cop can bust it.
As we reported earlier, Kardashian's baby girl was born on Monday, the proud mom revealed in a post on her website on Tuesday. Now just a few hours later, RadarOnline is blaring in a headline, "Kim Kardashian Baby Name Shocker! Star Fights With Pregnant Kylie Over What To Call Daughter." The accompanying story begins, "What's in a name? Turns out a major fight, if you're Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner!"
The webloid alleges the sisters have been "battling over who gets to name their newborn daughter Love." Of course, Jenner is still pregnant and not due to give birth yet. But a so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Kim and Kylie were fighting over the name." The site's supposed snitch maintains Jenner was also considering "Princess" while Kardashian was "learning toward Star, and will likely let Kylie have Love."
The outlet further alleges, "Never one to give up creative control, Kardashian's husband, Kanye West, wanted a say in what to call his little girl." Yes, because a father wanting to name his child is about "creative control" and not love. Anyway, the publication's purported tipster alleges, "Kanye wanted South West. But Kim said no because she thinks it's cheesy and bad for their brand."
These claims, however, are provably false. First off, Kardashian ruled out "South West" when she was expecting son Saint back in 2015, so the rapper would not be suggesting it now to his wife more than two years later. And on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in November, she point-blank said, "I'm not going to name her Star." That goes directly against the webloid's contention that she was "leaning toward Star." Clearly the site doesn't actually know what was chosen, despite pretending to have insight.
And the reason RadarOnline doesn't know the final decision is because no one close to Kardashian is leaking baby names to the media. In fact, a People source even noted last month, "Kim isn't sharing the name. She was very secretive about the names before North and [Saint] were born, too." Similarly, the reputable magazine also reported that Jenner "isn't sharing" her preferred baby name either. Yet this blog wants readers to believe the names were shared with them, of all places. If you sensed this tale is bogus, you'd be right.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
