Is Kim Kardashian anorexic? One tabloid thinks so. Gossip Cop looked into the claim, and found comments from Kardashian herself that seem to disprove the story.
"Fears For Scary Skinny Kim," reads a headline in Star, which questions whether she's "stopped keeping up with her daily calorie needs." It's alleged the mom of three has "dropped to 105 pounds due to a draconian diet mixed with anxiety over her fraught marriage to Kanye West." The magazine further claims that "some pals even fear Kim's done the unthinkable — by removing a rib!"
A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "Since she can't control her marriage, anorexic Kim's trying to control her weight. She's up at 5 a.m. to work out and never has a cheat day anymore." A doctor who has never met Kardashian alleges her "sudden weight loss and behavior shift" are signs of an illness, telling the outlet, "Everything you've described is an aspect of anorexia."
The publication further contends Kardashian is "so terrified of gaining weight that she's refusing to eat." As for the purported rib removal, a plastic surgeon who has also never treated Kardashian maintains, "Her waist looks super small and doesn't look like a normal waist... There's good evidence of a rib removal procedure." That supposed "evidence" isn't medical documentation, but this random doctor passing judgment based solely on photos of the reality star.
Kardashian herself actually already addressed such rib removal rumors on Twitter last month, denying the speculation but also joking that she didn't want to stop such claims from circulating because she's "flattered" by the assumption. In fact, these wrong allegations have been around for months. Gossip Cop busted this same tabloid in January for falsely claiming Kardashian had a rib removed.
The magazine is also wrong now about the reality star's exact weight. Only days ago, Kardashian confirmed she weighs 116 pounds. She credits her size to working out with a bodybuilder and largely eliminating sugar from her diet. But she's not "refusing to eat" or giving up on "cheat days." When Kardashian recently discussed her weight loss, she confessed, "I love Haagen-Dazs ice cream. That's like my one go-to."
And the contention that the "KUWTK" star is battling a "fraught marriage" is bogus, too. Only a week ago West posted a photo of Kardashian on Twitter with fire emojis, after which they color-coordinated their outfits for 2 Chainz's wedding. But the outlet regularly claims Kardashian and West are getting divorced, and now the publication has combined that phony narrative with a storyline about her health. There is no disputing Kardashian is thin, and that she works hard to look that way. But according to her own comments, starvation and rib removal are not a part of her game plan.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
