Is Khloe Kardashian planning a $3 million Caribbean wedding? That's what a tabloid wants readers to believe. But Gossip Cop can bust the story, as it's both made-up and inaccurate.
Though Kardashian and boyfriend Tristan Thompson are not engaged, Woman's Day New Zealand is deeming her a "diva bride" with a "point to prove." The gossip magazine claims the reality is tired of being "outshone" by her famous siblings and is now "determined to take a seat in the spotlight with the most expensive and extravagant wedding the family has ever seen." Specifically, it's claimed she and Thompson are "set to tie the knot... in a $3 million ceremony."
"Khloe's always felt like the odd one out of the family. Now she's finally got her happy ending and she wants to go all-out with the wedding of her dreams," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying. To that end, the outlet alleges Kardashian will "rent out the luxurious Caribbean island of Cayo Espanto." With a purported cost of $120,000 a night, the publication contends the pricey locale is "all of part the bride-to-be's mission to top" sister Kim, who married Kanye West at Forte di Belvedere in Florence nearly four years ago.
Asserts the supposed source, "Money is no object and she's flying in the best chefs from around the world, as well as Stevie Wonder and Beyonce to perform." The tabloid's alleged tipster adds, "Khloe is sick of being the underdog. She says that this wedding will prove that she and Tristan are the biggest Kardashian power couple." But there's one glaring omission. Nowhere is it said just when this wedding will supposedly be taking place. That's a rather key detail to leave out.
Also not acknowledged is that Kardashian already had a big wedding to Lamar Odom. Furthermore, while Gossip Cop fact-checked this tale, no one at Cayo Espanto could confirm that it was really booked for a Kardashian-Thompson wedding. Also, even when renting out the full island, the Cayo Espanto villas can only hold up to 18 people. Obviously, that would not be enough room for Kardashian's large family, Thompson's relatives and celebrity guests like Wonder and Beyonce, not to mention the "best chefs." And what about an officiant for the ceremony? Or a band for the reception? Stylists for the big day?
All of this makes it apparent these claims were not well though-out and were instead poorly made-up. Of course, even if the magazine had given a timeframe or chosen a size-appropriate venue, the story would still be untrue. Though the couple has discussed marrying at some point, they are not currently planning any nuptials, lavish or otherwise. In fact, Kardashian herself said in January that she's in no "rush" to get married. Instead, she's been focused on her pregnancy.
Oddly, the outlet claims she's "weeks away" from giving birth, when she's actually expected to deliver in days. What's more, though, is that Kardashian just told fans over the weekend that she's "bored" as she awaits the big moment. Clearly, she is not spending her time planning a $3 million wedding in the Caribbean. Gossip Cop is told on background that the "KUWTK" star's focus for the foreseeable future will be on motherhood.
We were actually first told that less than a month ago when Life & Style falsely claimed Kardashian was planning a $2 million wedding to take place in California. The gossip media may be in a hurry to marry her off, but she herself just isn't, contrary to these claims.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
