Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have not split, but one would believe otherwise based on all the false rumors that spread after a certain webloid made that claim. The reality star herself denied the fake news story after it was regurgitated by a number of other outlets.
Ever since the couple began dating in September 2016, HollywoodLife has been publishing bogus reports about a supposed breakup. The site was particularly aggressive with the claim this week, publishing a slew of inaccurate articles about the Cleveland Cavaliers player allegedly dumping his girlfriend, a rumor sparked by MediaTakeOut.
One of the webloid’s stories alleged Thompson “wants to take a break” from the reality star and focus on the NBA playoffs. Another phony article said their relationship was “falling apart” due to “explosive fights.” And a subsequent piece claimed the basketball player was “spending more time with baby mama” Jordan Craig. These wrong reports were all written in the last week alone, but they’re just a few examples of HollywoodLife’s many fabrications about the couple.
Unfortunately, several outlets decided to pick up these lies and spread them without bothering to do any fact-checking. Among the culprits were Life & Style, RadarOnline, Celebrity Insider and even the typically reliable Sports Illustrated. On Monday, however, Kardashian let it be known that she and Thompson are still together by sharing a Snapchat photo of the NBA star during a post-game interview, along with the caption, “Hi handsome!”
Oddly enough, HollywoodLies, as it is known, then decided to pretend its entire split narrative didn’t exist and reported that Kardashian “slams breakup rumors with a sweet message.” The site made note of her Snapchat photo and wrote, “So much for those nasty reports that they were ‘taking a break.'” We’re curious, do these “nasty reports” include the ones the webloid itself has been repeatedly manufacturing? The untrustworthy site has continuously been wrong about the couple’s relationship, and Gossip Cop urges other outlets to be more cautious before spreading its false claims.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is accurate to the best of our ability.
