Is Khloe Kardashian quitting “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” to go on an extended maternity leave? A new tabloid story is both wishy-washy and unrealistic. Gossip Cop can bust the report.

According to Life & Style, mom-to-be Kardashian is “finally tired of living in the spotlight” and has “decided to take an extended maternity leave from ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians,'” much to momager Kris Jenner’s chagrin. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “When Khloe originally said she wanted to take a long break, Kris thought she meant she would be taking three to four months off like Kourtney and Kim did.” But the gossip magazine contends, “When Khloe told her mom she wanted to take six to 18 months off from filming ‘KUWTK,’ Kris went ballistic.”

The family matriarch is “absolutely stunned Khloe is willing to walk away from the show to be a stay-at-home mom,” claims the outlet’s supposed source. But the publication then acknowledges this isn’t actually happening. The tabloid admits, “Khloe doesn’t have the option of just walking away from the show,” with its “source” also conceding, “Khloe’s contracted to star in the show and she has to abide by the rules.”

In other words, Kardashian isn’t actually quitting at all or going on an 18-month maternity leave. The magazine also never says how such a year-and-a-half hiatus from shooting would work, anyway. With her famous family spending most days filming, would she just never see them for 18 months to avoid being on camera? The contention doesn’t even make sense. It seems like the outlet just wanted to throw out an attention-grabbing headline and bury within the story the acknowledgement that its main premise isn’t actually feasible.

Still, the publication maintains Kardashian plans to do the “bare minimum required of her,” with the alleged tipster adding, “Once her contract is up, Khloe has threatened leave the show for good.” Gossip Cop is betting Life & Style hopes readers have long forgotten this inconsistent story by the time that 2020 contract expiration actually rolls around. After all, the tabloid probably expects fans don’t remember its story last year that claimed Scott Disick might be Kardashian’s baby daddy when she wasn’t even pregnant. But we do.

Also, it’s worth noting that the online version of this article ends with this line: “Khloe and Tristan are reportedly due to welcome a baby boy early next year.” But if the magazine really had a “source,” as claimed, it would know for sure when Kardashian is due and the baby’s gender, instead of having to rely on what’s “reportedly” been said. That exposes this whole story as manufactured.
