Khloe Kardashian is not getting plastic surgery while pregnant, despite a speculative claim about the size of her lips. Gossip Cop can bust this story, which is merely based on paparazzi photos of the expectant star.

"SHOCKING PHOTOS: Plastic Surgery While Pregnant? Khloe Kardashian's Lips Look Huge on Secret Outing," RadarOnline is blaring in a headline on Tuesday. It must be noted that there was nothing "secret" about the reality star's outing. Kardashian was simply photographed shopping. But right away the webloid is disingenuously portraying her in a negative light by alleging she was doing something secretive.

And in the story, the site dramatically asserts that "it was her lips, not her belly, that appeared noticeably larger." The outlet then asks, "Did the 'KUWTK' star get work done?'" A doctor is subsequently quoted as saying, "She definitely injected her upper and lower lips with fillers." But by the online publication's own admission, this plastic surgeon has never treated Kardashian. They've never even met. So how can this medical professional say what she's "definitely" had done? Or even when?

The blog actually goes on to acknowledge that a second doctor theorized Kardashian's "lips might just be swelling due to pregnancy," quoting this doctor as saying, "Everything swells, even in the face," when you're pregnant. The site further admits that the doctor "added it's unlikely pregnant women like Kardashian would even be considered for undergoing treatments to the lips."

Furthermore, the webloid then confesses that "it is possible Kardashian's plump pout could be due to swelling from lip injections she may have received prior to getting pregnant," which, this second doctor contends are "perfectly safe and do not need to be dissolved when pregnancy begins." So, in sum, RadarOnline is accusing Kardashian of getting plastic surgery while pregnant based on one doctor's assessment from looking at photos, while another doctor points out that she wouldn't be a candidate while expecting and could just have larger lips due to pre-pregnancy treatments.

What's more is that Gossip Cop already busted speculation Kardashian is getting lip injections while pregnant after the outlet's sister publication, Star, made similar accusations last month. As we were told then, the claim is simply "wrong." We'd argue it's also offensive that these judgmental, negative assumptions are even being made. It's actually fairly common for women to have swollen lips while pregnant.

Earlier this year, when MediaTakeOut tried peddling a lip injection narrative about Beyonce while she was pregnant with her twins, her spokesperson provided Gossip Cop with a statement directed at the blog, in which she bluntly asked, "What do you know about the effects of pregnancy on a woman's entire body? Please tell me. Did you know that in addition to weight gain there is often a dramatic change in the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling? Do you know that often women's gums get swollen? Do you know that it sometimes affects our speech, our ability to chew intently and a host of other things?"

MTO, of course, never considered such factors. And while RadarOnline may have, particularly given the comments from the second doctor, the webloid still went with its plastic surgery angle. It's shameful.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
