Khloe Kardashian was not "dumped at the altar," despite a report from the tabloids. Contrary to what this story claims, Gossip Cop can confirm she and Tristan Thompson are still going strong.
The article in question is featured in the current issue of Life & Style, which writes, "After a big fight, Tristan Thompson pulls the plug on his wedding to Khloe Kardashian." According to the tabloid, the stars "secretly had gotten engaged and were actively planning an intimate wedding. But then Tristan had a last-minute change of heart."
"He got cold feet around the NBA finals and called things off. Since he backed off so abruptly, Khloe feels like she was left at the altar," a so-called "insider" claims to the gossip magazine, inspiring the story's sensational headline. The outlet's supposed source goes on to allege that following the championship, in which Thompson's team lost, the couple "then had a big blowup where he yelled at her that he wanted his space so he could focus on his career."
The publication describes Kardashian as "heartbroken." "Khloe and Tristan talked a lot about their upcoming marriage. But now everything she thought would happen is on hold," contends the tabloid's alleged tipster, who further asserts, "Khloe has seen Tristan since their fight and things have cooled off in their relationship." Tellingly, though, it's never said when this wedding was supposed to take place. And suspiciously, it's claimed Kardashian's own momager, Kris Jenner, didn't even know the nuptials were in the works.
It's also notable that the magazine stops short of saying the pair has split. In fact, the piece ends with the "insider" saying Thompson "loves her and he really doesn't want to throw it all away." That shows this is an example of an old tabloid trick. Step one: Claim a wedding is in the works. Step two: Get out of the lie by saying it was called off. Step three: Add that the relationship is still otherwise on, so readers don't think it's weird when the couple is spotted together.
But there's more evidence indicating this story was made up. While it's asserted that Thompson has "backed off the relationship" and wants "his space," it's actually quite the opposite. On Sunday, the NBA player threw Kardashian a surprise birthday party. She even tweeted on Monday, "Thank you so much baby!!! You treat me like a queen!" It's clear that the couple is only getting closer and their relationship is progressing, not regressing. Of course, Life & Style previously claimed Kardashian was being urged to dump Thompson nearly six months ago, making it more obvious the outlet doesn't know what it's talking about.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
