Khloe Kardashian is "leaning on" Lamar Odom during Tristan Thompson's cheating scandal, according to a completely wrong report. Gossip Cop can bust this story. Kardashian is committed to moving forward with Thompson, and is not relying on her ex-husband for "comfort."
But a headline in the current edition of Closer is falsely announcing, "Khloe Turns To Lamar For Support." According to a so-called "pal" quoted by the tabloid, "Lamar reached out to congratulate her on the birth [of daughter True] and to say how sorry he was about everything. Khloe broke down and has been leaning on him ever since." Though Odom was infamously unfaithful during their marriage, the gossip magazine maintains he "has been there for her" as Kardashian raises a newborn, wrestles whether to stay with Thompson and deals with the fallout from his infidelity.
"Khloe FaceTimes Lamar, and they'll often speak for hours. She says it's the most comfort she's had since the scandal broke," claims the outlet's supposed source, who contends Kardashian is "craving the familiarity she had with Lamar." As for Thompson, the purported "pal" alleges he's "trying to win her back, but she's unsure if she can trust him." Kardashian is further described as "confused."
But there appeared to be no confusion when Kardashian and Thompson were filmed laughing at a lunch in a Cleveland restaurant on Friday. The outing marked the first time they were seen together since Thompson's cheating was exposed. That same day, multiple publications confirmed the couple intends to stay together, despite his unfaithfulness. People reported that Kardashian and Thompson are living together again, while Us Weekly described Kardashian and Thompson as "fully back together."
As such, the reality star has no reason to be "leaning on" her ex. It also makes the notion that Kardashian is spending "hours" a day talking to Odom while residing in Thompson's home more than a bit laughable. Last month, though, it was reported that Odom felt "terrible" for Kardashian and was contemplating contacting her. That obviously inspired this tale about her using him for "support." But no reputable outlet ever reported anything about the former spouses actually getting back in touch and Odom providing aid to Kardashian through this time.
Such a narrative is only coming from Closer, the same tabloid that wrongly claimed in March that Kris Jenner was adopting. No credible publication ever corroborated that report because the magazine seems to either be making-up its Kardashian-Jenner stories or relying on some pretty poor sources. In either case, it is apparent these articles should be regarded as unsubstantiated fiction, not verifiable fact.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
