Kendall Jenner apparently made a donation to Charity Water on Earth Day. Now her momager Kris Jenner is bragging about it, a few weeks after the model was under fire for an insensitive Pepsi commercial.

As Gossip Cop reported, a number of stars are celebrating Earth Day and supporting the March for Science on Saturday. For her part, Kendall posted a photo of impoverished people receiving jugs of water, and wrote on Twitter, “Everyone deserves clean and safe water to drink this #earthday please join me in supporting @charitywater.” She included a link to Charity Water, with the URL showing that Kendall was credited for the referral.

The 21-year-old did not make any mention of a specific donation, aside from asking her followers to “join me in supporting” the organization. But Kris is praising her daughter for her supposed good deed. She tweeted, “Kendall! I am so proud of you! Your generous donation will make such a huge difference in hundreds of lives!!! You have a truly beautiful heart & care so deeply about others. Thank you for encouraging the rest of us to do the same & give! @KendallJenner.”

Despite Kris referring to a “generous donation,” it is not clear how much money Kendall actually gave. A skeptic might think the matriarch went a little overboard with the praise as part of damage control for the backlash Kendall has faced in recent weeks. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Kendall’s Pepsi ad was slammed as offensive and tone deaf earlier this month for depicting her joining a protest and making peace with a police officer by simply handing him a can of soda.

Pepsi initially defended the clip, but ultimately pulled the spot and apologized, all the while Kendall stayed silent. Kris also tweeted this week about Kendall covering three editions of Harper’s Bazaar and her face being projected onto the Empire State Building. Kendall, too, touted that on Twitter, but still has yet to speak out about the Pepsi controversy.
