Kelly Ripa is NOT against Tamron Hall co-hosting "Live," despite a report. Gossip Cop can correct the story, which comes from one of the tabloids.
The article can be found in this week's issue of Life & Style, under the headline, "Kelly Doesn't Want Tamron As Co-Host." Thev magazine writes, "When former 'Today' co-host Tamron Hall left NBC on Feb 1., there were whispers ABC would snatch her up. But there's at least one person at the network who isn't exactly keen on the idea: Kelly Ripa."
"She is absolutely against having Tamron co-host with her," a so-called "insider" claims to the outlet. "Kelly really feels that the show does well with one female and one male co-host. She's made it crystal clear she will be the only woman on the show."
But those claims couldn't be further from the truth. In the last two months, Ripa has been joined at the co-hosts' table by Rita Ora, Carrie Ann Inaba, Busy Philipps, Leslie Mann, and Bellamy Young. Philipps and Inaba even hosted two times each when they appeared in early February. Inaba joined Ripa last summer, too.
Furthermore, Ripa said in an interview last year that she's totally open to having a female partner. "From my perspective, I like to get as many different people, men and women, in the chair as possible. Just because you never know who you're going to hit it off with," she explained. "Some of the people I've hit it off with the best have been women, which is not unusual for me. I'm a girls' girl. I like the dynamic of that."
As for Hall, Gossip Cop is told that Ripa has absolutely nothing against her, contrary to the Life & Style claims. And whether or not she ends up co-hosting won't have anything to do with her being a woman.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
