A new tabloid cover story alleges that a nasty feud has broken out between Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest behind the scenes of “Live.” Gossip Cop looked into the situation, and we can exclusively set the record straight.
Ripa was ecstatic when Seacrest joined her morning talk show earlier this month, and the co-hosts have displayed great on-air chemistry ever since. According to Star, however, it’s all a facade. The magazine claims the TV personalties are clashing over their “giant egos” and having control of the show. A supposed “source” tells the outlet, “The mood on set is positively toxic,” as Seacrest believes Ripa is “full of herself,” while she thinks he’s “a user and a phony.”
The tabloid’s questionable insider goes on to purport that ABC executives forced Seacrest on Ripa, who supposedly “didn’t have a say in Ryan coming on board.” Additionally, maintains the “source,” Ripa is furious about the possibility of her colleague returning to host the upcoming “American Idol” revival. The outlet’s alleged tipster says Seacrest is scheming “to move ‘Live’ to Los Angeles” so he can host both the morning talk show and reality competition series. “Given that Kelly’s whole life – the show, her husband and their children – revolves around NYC, that would be devastating for her, and would force her into a tough decision about staying on the show,” adds the magazine’s seemingly phony source.
The tabloid claims there’s a whole lot of behind-the-scenes drama, but none of it is remotely true. Gossip Cop is told by a source involved in the production of “Live” that the vibe on set is very positive. We’re also exclusively assured by Ripa’s rep that she’s thrilled with her new co-host, and the publications’s cover story is “all false.” Additionally, a rep for Seacrest similarly tells Gossip Cop there’s “no truth” to the alleged feud.
In fact, we already called out Star‘s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for recently making up a story about Ripa feeling “betrayed” by Seacrest over the “American Idol” reboot. To the contrary, she actually encouraged him to try and juggle both shows. Gossip Cop also busted the site for wrongly reporting that Ripa was “against” hiring Seacrest, which wasn’t the case. Simply, the tabloid’s assertion that there’s a war at “Live” is dead wrong.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
