There have been countless tabloid stories about Keith Urban being jealous of Nicole Kidman‘s relationships with her male co-stars. Gossip Cop has debunked many variations of the phony narrative. Here are a few wrong rumors on the subject.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted Woman’s Day for falsely claiming Urban was upset about Kidman’s friendship with Edgar Ramirez, her co-star in the upcoming HBO series “The Undoing.” According to the magazine, the couple’s marriage was struggling as they attempted to juggle their busy schedules and spend time together, so the actress was leaning on Ramirez for support. Urban’s own spokesperson laughed off the story before assuring us it was fabricated. The country star’s rep confirmed he wasn’t having marriage problems, nor was his wife getting too close to her co-star.
In April, Gossip Cop called out New Idea for wrongly reporting that Urban wasn’t happy about Kidman getting close to Hugh Grant, who also co-stars with the actress in “The Undoing.” That article similarly maintained that Kidman was “leaning on” on her co-star “amid various problems” in her marriage. But shortly before the article emerged,Kidman posted a selfie on Instagram of her and Urban sitting in the audience of the Broadway show Network. After that, the actress accompanied her husband to the ACM Awards, where he won Entertainer Of The Year. During his speech, Urban said to Kidman, “Baby Girl, I love you so much.” Grant simply hadn’t come between them.
Last October, Gossip Cop debunked a Woman’s Day story claiming Urban was furious over Russell Crowe gushing about Kidman in interviews while promoting their movie Boy Erased. An anonymous source told the magazine that the country singer didn’t appreciate the actor’s so-called “infatuation” with his wife. Not only did Urban’s rep refute the story, but the outlet didn’t bother to mention that Urban is very friendly with the actor.
Back in 2011, in fact, the country star surprised fans in Vancouver by bringing Crowe on stage to perform a few songs with him. Meanwhile, Kidman has been friends with the fellow Australian star for more than 30 years, and there’s nothing remotely inappropriate about their dynamic.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted Star in 2017 for falsely alleging Urban flipped out after Kidman kissed Alexander Skarsgard on the lips at the Emmy Awards. The actress gave her “Big Little Lies” co-star a peck on the lips as he made his way to the stage after winning an Emmy for his performance on the HBO series. The tabloid contended that the country singer later “laid into” his wife for kissing her co-star on live television in front of millions of viewers.
In reality, Urban wasn’t upset about his wife congratulating her co-star with a friendly kiss. The country singer was unfazed by the situation and happily applauded for Skarsgard as he accepted his award. Additionally, there are several photos of Urban passionately kissing his wife backstage directly following her own Emmy win. All of these tales of jealousy are baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
