Is Keith Urban upset that Nicole Kidman is growing too close to her co-star Hugh Grant? That’s what one of this week’s celebrity magazines is claiming. Gossip Cop looked into the story, and we’ve exclusively learned Urban is not remotely concerned about his wife and Grant being together on the set of their HBO series “The Undoing.”
“Keith Warns Hugh: Back Off Nicole,” reads the headline of an article in New Idea. The tabloid then contends it has an “insider” who shares, “Nicole’s been leaning on Hugh for support over the last few weeks and he’s been her rock amid various problems she’s faced while being apart from husband, Keith, so it’s understandable they’ve grown close.” Naturally, the often discredited publication doesn’t mention what Kidman’s supposed “various problems” are. More significantly, the Oscar-winner hasn’t really been “apart” from Urban.
A little more than a week ago, Kidman posted a selfie on Instagram of her and Urban sitting cozily at a performance of the Broadway show Network. And she was right by Urban’s side when he won Entertainer Of The Year at the ACMs in Las Vegas on Sunday. The country singer began his acceptance speech by saying to Kidman, “Thank you so much. Baby Girl, I love you so much.” Those are not exactly the words of a guy who’s “upset” or concerned.
Going back to the tabloid’s narrative, its unnamed and possibly fictitious “source” asserts that while “Keith’s been upset by Nicole’s growing closeness to Hugh… he knows she would never cheat on him.” That said, the tipster explains how Urban “feels that [Kidman] might have crossed a line” by having what’s termed an “emotional involvement” with Grant. Still, to cover itself the magazine’s purported insider says Kidman has “fiercely denied” the accusations, adding she’s “heartbroken that Keith would accuse her of betraying his trust.”
While the publication’s entire tale is predicated on an anonymous and untraceable “insider,” Urban’s rep laughed it off as nonsense when Gossip Cop sought a comment. Of course, this is hardly the first time the outlet’s questionable sources have been wrong. We have repeatedly exposed the magazine for its bogus accounts involving Kidman and Urban.
Just two weeks ago, for example, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid when it published an inaccurate piece about Urban being furious that Kidman allowed their daughters to appear on her TV show. And almost a year ago to the day, we debunked a cover story from New Idea that maintained Urban and Kidman were getting a divorce. Much like those reports, the latest article is also 100 percent untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
