A tabloid claims Keith Urban is furious about Nicole Kidman supposedly hiring an acting agent for their two young daughters. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. A spokesperson for the country star confirms there's no truth to it.
According to Woman's Day, Urban is riled up because his wife has supposedly turned into a "stage mom" who's trying to launch show business careers for their daughters Sunday, 11, and Faith, 8. The young girls were extras on Kidman's HBO shows Big Little Lies and The Undoing, and are voicing two birds in the upcoming animated film The Angry Birds Movie 2. Their voices appear very briefly in a scene that also includes the voices of Gal Gadot and Viola Davis' daughters.
An alleged insider tells the outlet that Urban isn't happy about his girls stepping into the spotlight, and it's become a point of contention between him and Kidman. "Keith was furious when he found out Nicole had got the girls an agent - telling her he felt this went against everything they'd discussed about letting the girls live a normal childhood," adds the questionable source. "Nicole explained how Sunday had begged her for more acting work and she only did it on the down low because she wanted to give the girls a chance to flourish without being restrained by their parents' fears about the industry."
The tabloid hides behind an anonymous and untraceable "source" to back up its story, but Gossip Cop checked in with Urban's rep, who went on the record to dismiss it. Despite what the magazine's unidentified "insider" claims, the musician's spokesperson tells us there's no truth to the outlet's premise. Kidman hasn't gotten their daughters an agent and she's not pushing them to become stars. The girls have been given bit acting parts for fun and Urban doesn't have an issue with it.
Back in March, Gossip Cop busted New Idea for making up a similar story claiming Urban was furious about Kidman allowing their daughters to appear on The Undoing. In reality, the actress isn't putting her girls in projects behind her husband's back. The spouses are on the same page when it comes to allowing their daughters to make brief appearances in the spotlight. In fact, Urban brought his girls on stage during his concert in Nashville last New Year's Eve.
Less than a month ago, Gossip Cop called out Woman's Day for wrongly reporting that Kidman and Urban were adopting a baby boy. The parents of two aren't having any more children, and this latest article doesn't address that phony scenario. The publication doesn't have much insight into the couple's marriage or their family.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
