Keith Urban is not on an "eye-popping Botox binge," despite a new report. Gossip Cop can correct this highly exaggerated and speculative claim. We've learned it's untrue.

The contention comes from the Globe, which alleges Nicole Kidman's husband's "new look couldn't come at a better time." The supermarket tabloid quotes what it calls a "Tinseltown insider" as saying, "He's gone through a rough patch in his marriage and believed that he needed a bit of a touch-up to remain the music idol she fell in love with." The reality is, however, the actress and country singer's marriage is perfectly fine, and they didn't they go through a "rough patch," nor was Kidman on the verge of filing for divorce from Urban, a claim Gossip Cop busted from that magazine just a few weeks ago.

The outlet's premise for why Urban may be getting injectables is not only wrong, but its methodology is also flawed since the article is predicated almost entirely on the opinions of doctors who have never treated the singer. In fact, the plastic surgeons who were asked to weigh in on whether or not Urban is on a "Botox binge" were simply conjecturing based on photos that were furnished by the often discredited tabloid. What's somewhat amusing is that the different doctors asked to comment actually have diverging views, meaning none really knows for sure if or how Urban's had Botox.

One cosmetic surgeon suspects Botox was "injected between the eyebrows... and into the crow's-feet areas" around the corners of his eyes. Meanwhile, another doctor believes the wrinkle-smoothing shots were administered "into his forehead." There's also speculation about him getting work done on his cheeks and smile lines.

The bottom line, however, is that it's nothing more than guesswork because the physicians haven't examine his face in person and are only working off photos chosen for them by a magazine that seemingly has an agenda. When Gossip Cop approached Urban's rep about the assertion he's on a "Botox binge," it was laughed off. But to objectively make a determination, we looked at videos Urban recently has posted of himself.

It stands to reason, if Urban were so concerned about the lines on his forehead, he would probably not post footage of himself with wrinkles. As luck would have it, the U.S. leg of his Graffiti U World Tour ended last night in Dallas, and right afterwards he posted video from the American Airlines Center, where the concert was held. Right at the beginning of the well-lit video that Urban shared on Instagram, during which he thanks his fans, family and crew, one can easily see wrinkles on his forehead.

The lines on his head are also very noticeable in another Instagram video Urban shot after a show last month in Phoenix, where he similarly thanked his supporters. Gossip Cop apologizes to the Globe for putting a wrinkle into its made-up story, but injecting truth into false reports is what we do. Whether Urban has tried a little Botox is unclear, but he most certainly is not binging on it.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
