Keisha Renee and Noah Mac’s Battle on “The Voice” led to a steal on Monday’s episode. Check out the video below!

Renee and Mac are both on Blake Shelton’s team. The second round of the NBC music competition requires he and the other coaches to pair up their contestants for duet performances. What makes it a “battle” is that only one from each pair can be kept on the team going forward, with the other person cut. The only way to avoid elimination entirely is for another coach to steal the artist on his or her way out. And that’s exactly what happened with this duo.

Shelton assigned the two the Elvis Presley version of “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.” In rehearsals, he had not one special adviser but a group of them as Rascal Flatts collectively joined him to mentor Team Blake. Renee admitted of the hit band, “They’re soul, country, everything I want to be.” Of the song choice, Shelton said, “It’s country, it’s rock and they can kind of make this song their own.” Mac, only 17, admitted about his opponent, “I’m super scared what might happen to me but I’m so honored to sing with her.”

Shelton predicted it would be a “tough” pick for him, but said the one who sang with emotion and feeling would get his vote. Of course, they both ended up moving the coaches. Jennifer Hudson marveled over Mac’s age, saying, “Your voice is like an old soul. That’s a rare gift.” She also called Renee’s “purity” so “flawlessly beautiful.” She added, “I think you both come with something extremely special.”

Miley Cyrus highlighted Renee’s “style and grace” and noted that Mac “embodied the Elvis vibe.” But, she added, “Blake, he always says, ‘Who’s gonna with the show?’ Keisha, I think that’s something you do.” Adam Levine opined, “It’s impossible to choose, so it’s gonna have to boil down to who you can move forward. It’s not like one is better than the other. It’s apple and oranges.”

“It’s always easier when you have a Battle round and somebody’s really good and somebody sucks,” Shelton observed, adding, “You both sing with so much heart.” But he eventually had to make a decision, and he chose Renee as the winner. But his loss was Hudson’s gain, as she pushed her button to steal Mac and add him to Team J-Hud. Watch the video below!
