Keanu Reeves is often at the center of false tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has debunked many phony reports about the actor. Here are five wrong rumors.
In January, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for making up a story about Daniel Craig "playing cupid" for Reeves and Halle Berry, his co-star in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. The magazine contended that Craig introduced the two a few years back and was trying to get them to start dating because "sparks flew on set" when they recently worked together. The story was based on claims from an anonymous "source," but Craig's spokesperson told us on the record that it was completely made-up. The James Bond star never worked behind the scenes to make a love connection between Reeves and Berry.
Earlier in January, Gossip Cop called out OK! for making up a similar story about Reeves and Berry developing a romance while working together on the John Wick sequel. The tabloid maintained that the actress had been crushing on her co-star "for years" and the two were exchanging flirty texts and emails. Sources close to the situation, however, assured us the relationship between the co-stars is just friendly and professional. Reeves and Berry still aren't dating and haven't been spotted spending time together off the set.
Gossip Cop also busted OK! in January for wrongly reporting that Sandra Bullock was "torn" between Reeves and her boyfriend Bryan Randall. The tabloid alleged that the actress's boyfriend wasn't happy about her close friendship with the actor, with whom she co-starred in 1994's Speed and 2006's The Lake House. The outlet further contended that Randall had issued Bullock and ultimatum to cut Reeves out of her life or he'll end their relationship. The actress's rep dismissed the story as nonsense. It seemed to have been written simply because one month prior, Bullock admitted on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she had a crush on Reeves while they were filming Speed. The actress, however, made a point of noting that she and the actor "never dated" and are "probably friends for [so] long because we didn't."
Last October, Gossip Cop debunked an NW story claiming Reeves had been "quietly dating" Angelina Jolie since July 2017 when they supposedly took a secret trip to Greece together. The magazine went on to say that the actor was bonding with the actress's six children. The story lacked logic. If the two movie stars had truly been in a relationship for more than a year, it's nearly impossible they wouldn't have been spotted together. Regardless, a source close to Jolie assured us she never vacationed with Reeves in Greece, nor are the two an item. Reputable outlets such as People and E! News have also confirmed that the actress has remained single and focused on her kids amid her divorce from Brad Pitt.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted YourNewsWire in February 2018 for falsely claiming Reeves believes the plot of his movie The Matrix is real. According to the blog, the actor went on a rant about the human race living in a virtual reality while filming his Super Bowl commercial for Squarespace last year. A source close to the actor assured us he never ranted about humanity living in "the matrix" while shooting his TV ad. There were obviously a lot of bystanders on set, and not a single one of these people came forward with such allegations. The bogus narrative could only be found on YourNewsWire, which has been known to peddle wild conspiracy theories.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
