Katy Perry says there’s no “victim or a villain” in her split from Orlando Bloom. The singer expressed to her fans that there’s no need for any animosity to toward the actor, because she herself is still friends with and cares for him. On Thursday, the singer tweeted, “HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017!? U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”

As Gossip Cop reported on Tuesday, Bloom and Perry recently split up. The news of their breakup came just two days after they hung out at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Since then, various websites have floated all sorts of theories about each other’s varying degrees of commitment to the relationship and questions about fidelity. Gossip Cop has avoided it all, because it’s mostly outlets’ guesswork and gossip.

In fact, Perry and Bloom seemed to have anticipated a slew of false reports because, when they announced their break, they said in a statement, “Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.” And they seemingly had good reason to fear inaccurate stories. In the past, Gossip Cop corrected a number of misguided claims, including an OK! article that wrongly asserted Perry and Bloom were engaged.
