Katy Perry is NOT “leaning on” Robert Pattinson over the allegations her boyfriend Orlando Bloom hooked up with Selena Gomez, despite a bogus webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this rumor. We’re told it’s “not true.”

As Gossip Cop has reported, false rumors about Bloom cheating on Perry emerged after the actor was photographed hugging Gomez in a booth at an after-party for the opening night of her Revival Tour in Las Vegas. But Bloom and Gomez are not hooking up, and the two are only good friends, as Gossip Cop previously noted. In fact, Perry herself called the entire situation a “dumb conspiracy” on Twitter Thursday night.

Of course, once it was established as “dumb,” it was the perfect opportunity for the repeatedly discredited HollywoodLife to manufacture a fake claim about a “heartbroken” Perry turning to Pattinson for support because he went through a supposedly similar situation when his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart was photographed with director Rupert Sanders. “They spent quite a bit of time together at the Met Gala and Rob knew how much Orlando meant to Katy,” says the webloid’s seemingly made-up insider. “He basically just let Katy know that he’s there for her anytime she needs to talk.”

But there’s nothing romantic going on between Gomez and Bloom, and Perry doesn’t need somebody to “lean on.” Basically, HollywoodLies, as it has become known, was shamelessly looking for a way to drag Pattinson’s name into this already untrue report about Bloom and Gomez. Irrespective of the webloid publishing its story based on a previously debunked claim, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us it’s simply “not true.”

Gossip Cop has caught HollywoodLife fabricating stories about Pattinson, Perry, and Gomez so many times, it’s mind boggling. Just check our archives if you want to see who publishes facts and who manufactures fiction. It’s actually a fun read.
