One of the blog's claims Katy Perry's honor at the 2018 amfAR Gala was "undercut" by so-called "awkwardness" between Robert Pattinson and Orlando Bloom. The premise is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can clear up the situation.
On Thursday night, Perry received the Courage Award at the annual amfAR gala in Los Angeles for her commitment to the fight against HIV and AIDS. In attendance were Bloom and Pattinson, the singer's boyfriend and longtime friend, respectively. HollywoodLife, which wrongly describes Pattinson as the singer's "ex," speculates that the dynamic was uncomfortable between him and Bloom.
The site goes on to say that Perry "made out with" Pattinson back in January, which is the reason things may have been tense between him and Bloom at the event. However, Gossip Cop already called out the blog in January when it wrongly reported that Perry and Pattinson were caught kissing at a Los Angeles restaurant. Not only did the pop star's rep tell us on the record that the claim was false, but Twitter photos from the dinner showed Perry and Pattinson sitting on opposite sides of the table, as well as accompanied by several other pals.
Perry has been friends with the Twilight star for years, and their relationship has always been platonic. Pattinson isn't the singer's "ex" and there's zero "awkwardness" between him and Bloom. In fact, photos from the amfAR Gala show the two actors hanging out at the event.
Meanwhile, HollywoodLife seems to have forgotten that back in February, it claimed Perry wanted to get married to Pattinson. Just weeks after that phony story was published, the news emerged that the singer had rekindled her romance with Bloom. The blog's latest article conveniently fails to mention its bogus marriage storyline. It's also worth noting, a spokesperson qualified to speak on Perry's behalf has told Gossip Cop several times that she and Pattinson have never been more than friends.
Additionally, the blog has already proven to have very little insight into the singer's relationship with Bloom. This past April, Gossip Cop busted the site for falsely claiming that Perry was "ready to make babies" with the actor. It's now six months later and the couple hasn't gotten engaged, let alone tried to start a family.
Here's what happened at Thursday night's amfAR gala. Perry received an award, and her boyfriend and longtime pal were both there to support her. The site's attempt to create an "awkward" love triangle is baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
