Katy Perry is not pressuring Robert Pattinson to get married, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. For starters, the two aren't dating. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this bogus story.
Over the past few weeks, Gossip Cop has corrected a slew of outlets for wrongly reporting that the actor and singer were caught making out at Taix French Restaurant in Los Angeles. In reality, Pattinson and Perry had dinner with a group of friends and weren't even sitting next to each other. Unfortunately, this week's issue of Life & Style is escalating the phony narrative by claiming that she wants to walk down the aisle with the actor.
"Katy feels ready to settle down and get married," a so-called "source" tells the magazine. "Rob's just her type: a sexy Brit with a fun personality." The outlet's questionable insider goes on to say that Pattinson is "really enjoying spending time with Katy," but getting married is "the last thing on his mind" and he's even "been telling pals that he's put off marriage for life."
According to the suspicious source, Perry's hoping to change the actor's mind with the help of his parents. "Rob's parents approve of Katy and want him to settle down," says the seemingly nonexistent insider. "They're rooting for him and Katy." Of course, this is all complete nonsense. As Gossip Cop has reported several times already, there's nothing romantic going on between Pattinson and Perry, who've been friends for years. Perry herself has gone on the record to say they've never dated, noting, "He's my bud, I'm like his big sister. We just hang out."
In fact, Perry's rep confirmed to us on the record that they're "just friends" when the romance rumors began picking up steam a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed in the short time since. Also, Life & Style is late to the game when it comes to wrongly reporting this nonsense. Gossip Cop busted the tabloid a few days ago for publishing an article about Pattinson and Perry "making out" at a restaurant, long after we debunked the false claim.
Simply put, two people who aren't dating don't typically settle down and get married. Perry and Pattinson aren't an item, so she's not pressuring him to tie the knot, despite what the unreliable magazine claims. This fictional saga started with the two "hooking up," led to them "dating" and now we're at "marriage." Unfortunately, Gossip Cop fears that the tabloids will be making up pregnancy rumors next. Regardless, we can confirm that this ongoing love story is entirely made-up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
