Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson were not caught "making out," despite a very late and still wrong report. Gossip Cop can once again exclusively correct this off-base claim that asserts the pair are "taking their friendship to the next level" and possibly "hooking up." We were told it was untrue a week ago and nothing has changed since then.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Wonderwall inaccurately claimed Pattinson and Perry were "making out" at Taix French Restaurant earlier this month. However, pictures of Perry and Pattinson proved they weren't even sitting next to each other, let alone "making out." But according to Life & Style, Perry and Pattinson were "spied getting extremely cozy at Taix restaurant in L.A. on January 26."
A so-called "source" is quoted telling the magazine that Perry and Pattinson "were all over each other and making out," as they "sat in the corner" of the restaurant "drinking" until 2 a.m. The outlet further asserts the two stars are "taking their friendship to the next level." The tabloid then maintain that Perry's ex-boyfriend Orlando Bloom "can't be taking the news well." Nevertheless, the publication speculates that "maybe Rob and Katy's timing is finally right."
Let Gossip Cop again set the record straight. As we previously noted, Perry and Pattinson were 100 percent not caught kissing at Taix French Restaurant in Los Angeles. In fact, the restaurant's manager exclusively told us no one saw any PDA between the pair. And, as noted above, despite how how profile the two are and the number of photos taken of them there, there isn't a single shot of Perry and Pattinson "making out." Still, Gossip Cop fact-checked the tabloid's story and again we were assured by Perry's rep that the report is completely untrue.
The new Life & Style report is simply late and wrong. Of course, this isn't the first time Perry and Pattinson have been wrongly linked romantically. Ever since TMZ insinuated Perry and Pattinson were dating after being spotted together at the Sunset Tower Hotel last August, Gossip Cop has busted a slew of outlets for fabricating unverifiable stories about the longtime friends. We recently corrected the often discredited HollywoodLife for claiming Pattinson has been "crushing" on Perry for years. That wasn't true, and this new and belated article about Perry and Pattinson being caught "making out" in a restaurant is equally wrong.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
