A new report alleges Katy Perry is “furious” Taylor Swift premiered her new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” at the 2017 VMAs, but the entire story is made-up. Gossip Cop can correct this fabrication. We’re told no one from Perry’s camp is talking to the webloid.

According to the often disproven HollywoodLife, which routinely posts inaccurate tales about both stars, Swift “stole Perry’s thunder,” this year’s host, by “debuting her new music video” during the MTV Video Music Awards. In a so-called “exclusive,” an alleged Perry “insider” is quoted as saying, “Katy is pretty upset about how everything went down at the VMAs. She agreed to be the host and thought it was her big night, only to have it stolen by Taylor.”

The website’s seemingly non-existent “source” goes on to claim, “Taylor didn’t have to premiere the video then, but she wanted to hurt Katy.” The supposed tipster adds, “It just proves once again what [Perry] always felt, Taylor is the biggest mean girl in the business.” But, if it wasn’t already obvious, the entire story is manufactured. Remember, this latest article is coming from the same outlet that once lazily picked up and spread a made-up claim about Perry hooking up with Calvin Harris to get revenge on Swift.

Additionally, it’s the same bogus website that started the false rumor in April about Perry dating Ryan Phillippe. Taking its terrible track record into account, HollywoodLies, as it’s often nicknamed, is clearly clueless about Perry. Notwithstanding the amount of falsehoods the outlet has posted about the singer over the years, Gossip Cop still looked into the claim, and we’re not remotely surprised by the answer we received.

An actual source close to Perry assures Gossip Cop the report about her being “furious” with Swift for debuting her music video at the VMAs is entirely “made-up.” And with Swift’s new track dropping just days before the Video Music Awards, it was obvious that the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” would have its world premiere at the event, regardless of who was hosting the ceremony. Once again, the site has proven it doesn’t care about accurate reporting.
