Is Katy Perry really decorating her newly-purchased mansion in Beverly Hills with used furniture from Craigslist? That’s what one of the new tabloids is reporting, but Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

It was recently reported the singer bought a $19 million house in an upscale gated community in Coldwater Canyon, which is home to a number of A-list celebrities. An article in the latest issue of OK!, however, claims Perry is furnishing the expensive 5,500-square-foot property with recycled goods.

A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Katy loves a bargain… She wants to mix in flea market finds and used furniture. She thinks it’s practical and will make the house look more ‘lived-in.'” The unreliable outlet, which features this article in a section called “Celebrity Cheapskates,” goes on to suggest the singer “spray for bedbugs.”

Although it doesn’t make much sense Perry would spend nearly $20 million on a home, but be too “cheap” to decorate it with new furniture, Gossip Cop still looked into the magazine’s claim. As expected, a mutual pal of ours and Perry exclusively assures us the singer isn’t browsing Craigslist for used belongings. Unfortunately, OK! has a long history of publishing bogus stories about the pop star, so this latest piece of fiction doesn’t come as much of a shock.

Gossip Cop busted the publication last month after it wrongly reported Perry was dating Robert Pattinson just because they dined together at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. Of course, the two are simply good friends and the actor is currently in a relationship with FKA Twigs. We also called out the tabloid for publishing an absurd story alleging Perry wanted to date Calvin Harris to get revenge on Taylor Swift. Naturally, that sordid tale of a vengeful hookup was completely bogus, and the same goes for the magazine’s latest article about the singer’s nonexistent Craigslist furniture.
