Katy Perry isn’t getting along with fellow “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, which says ABC’s reboot of the reality competition show is off to a rough start because the singer lacks chemistry with her colleagues. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively clear up the situation.

A so-called “source” tells In Touch, “The network blew the budget when signing Katy Perry as a judge for $25 million, but now there are whispers on set that she might not have been the right choice at all. Luke and Katy have nothing in common. Also, her jokes are falling flat.” The magazine’s dubious insider adds, “Producers are already planning to edit the awkward silences out of the show.”

The outlet’s seemingly made-up insider goes on to allege that Richie is “questioning whether [Perry’s] cut out for TV,” while he and Bryan are also angry about their co-judge’s significantly higher salary. “The fact that Lionel and Luke are getting paid a lot less than Katy is an issue,” says the supposed source. “They feel like some of her paycheck should have been shared among them because, so far, they’re carrying her.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with source involved in the production of the “American Idol” reboot who’s not authorized to publicly comment, but we’re exclusively assured the tabloid’s report is entirely fabricated. We’re told the vibe on set is positive, and the whole crew has been having a great time filming. And, Richie not only recently tweeted a photo of himself, Bryan and Perry smiling together, but contrary to the magazine’s premise, he also posted another picture on Twitter of the three of them, along with a message that reads, “I’m already having so much fun!”

Of course, In Touch has quite a poor track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the singer, so we’re not surprised by this latest piece of fiction. Gossip Cop recently busted the outlet for falsely claiming Perry wanted to date Calvin Harris. There was no truth to that story, and this latest one is equally bogus.
