Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx were at the center of a lot of phony tabloid stories in 2018. The top rumor about the pair came last month when a tabloid falsely claimed they were getting married and having twins. As Gossip Cop rightly reported, that’s not the case.
In November, In Touch published a ridiculous cover story announcing that Holmes and Foxx were planning a wedding and having twins. The story was wrong from the onset. The magazine contended that the couple was engaged because Holmes was spotted in New Orleans wearing a diamond ring on her finger. The outlet didn’t mention that the actress was in the middle of shooting her upcoming movie The Secret. Holmes’ rep even told the New York Post, “Katie’s not engaged to anyone besides her fictional movie fiance, played by Jerry O’Connell.”
Still, the tabloid ran with the false engagement narrative and added a whole new set of lies. An alleged insider told the magazine that Holmes and Foxx would walk down the aisle at the actor’s estate in Hidden Valley, California. The actress’s 12-year-old daughter Suri was going to be her “maid of honor,” according to the supposed source, while the guest list would include dozens of A-list stars.
After saying the couple would be “starting a family together” following their so-called “wedding,” the outlet then peddled the possibility of them having twins. The entire article was based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly imaginary “source,” but Holmes’ rep told Gossip Cop on the record that it was completely made-up. There are no weddings or babies in the actress’s near future.
It’s worth noting, the tabloid didn’t bother to give a timeframe for when the couple’s supposed nuptials would take place. The story was also a bait-and-switch. The cover of In Touch declared that Holmes was pregnant with “Twins!” The accompanying article, however, only included one line speculating that the actress could potentially give birth to twins once she and Foxx start a family. In addition to the article being fabricated, it was misleading.
Although they’re not tying the knot and having babies, the couple’s relationship appears to be going strong. Holmes and Foxx went to dinner for her 40th birthday in New York City earlier this week. Their outing was covered by dozens of celebrity news outlets, none of which have reported anything about the couple getting married and having twins. That premise, which can only be found in the pages of In Touch, marks 2018’s top wrong rumor about the couple.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
