One of this week's tabloids claims Tom Cruise gave Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx his blessing to get married in Paris. The story is a complete fabrication. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted NW for wrongly reporting that Holmes and Foxx were planning a wedding in Paris for sometime early next year. The article further contended that the actor planned to adopt the actress's 12-year-old daughter Suri after they tied the knot. An alleged insider told the magazine that Cruise would likely "get bent out of shape" about Foxx adopting his daughter, despite the movie star having been estranged from his little girl for several years.
The tabloid's report was based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but Holmes' rep told Gossip Cop on the record that she and Foxx have no plans to tie the knot in Paris. The actress's spokesperson further confirmed that the two aren't even engaged.
Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped the magazine from publishing a follow-up story about Cruise's supposed reaction to the nonexistent nuptials. A questionable tipster tells the outlet, "He's aware this is happening and has no problem with it. After all the time that's passed, Tom only wants peace and he knows Jamie's a great guy."
The seemingly phony source goes on to say that Cruise "had reservations about them dating at first, but at the end of the day, he accepts they're in love, plus Jamie's respectful with his daughter, and that's swayed him to give the relationship his blessing." It's worth noting, this latest article makes no mention of Foxx planning to adopt Suri following the "wedding."
The magazine had claimed last month that Cruise would be "bent out of shape" about the actor adopting his daughter. In this latest version of the story, the movie star gave Foxx his blessing to marry Holmes because the actor is "respectful" with Suri. Not only is the tabloid's ongoing storyline false, it's also inconsistent. Regardless, Gossip Cop can confirm that Cruise didn't give his blessing to an imaginary wedding. From what we understand, the movie star has never expressed an opinion on Holmes and Foxx's romance, one way or the other.
Additionally, NW has already proven to have little insight into the movie star's relationship with his ex-wife and his daughter. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in August for falsely claiming that Cruise was battling Holmes for equal custody of Suri. That report, like this latest one, was completely fictional.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
