Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx's romance has been the subject of many false tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has debunked countless bogus reports about the nature of their relationship. Now, we look back at five recent wrong rumors about the pair.
Last month, Gossip Cop busted OK! for publishing a cover story announcing that Holmes and Foxx were getting married. It was said the actress was initially reluctant to walk down the aisle, but the actor convinced her that he was ready to make a lifelong commitment. However, a rep for Foxx assured us he was "not getting married" after the report was printed. Obviously, he and Holmes aren't engaged, let alone planning a wedding. People has also reported that Foxx and Holmes have a casual relationship and "don't see themselves as a couple in the traditional sense."
In April, Star made up a ridiculous story about Holmes dumping Foxx for Joshua Jackson after the two supposedly reignited a romance following the "Dawson's Creek" reunion earlier this year. Reps for both of the former co-stars told Gossip Cop on the record they weren't dating. Less than a week after the story emerged, Foxx and Holmes were spotted on a dinner date in New York City.
Earlier that month, OK! falsely claimed that two were "ready to have a baby" and Holmes might be pregnant already. Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for the actress, who assured us there was "no truth" to the story. Meanwhile, Foxx's spokesperson told us he's "not having another child." Obviously, time has shown the actress isn't expecting. Also, around the same time the article was published, Holmes was shooting the pilot for her upcoming Fox series, in which she plays an FBI agent, making it very unlikely she was carrying a child.
Gossip Cop called out OK! in February for wrongly reporting that the pair had split over the actor's reluctance to go public with their romance. But when it comes to keeping their relationship secretive, Holmes and Foxx are on the same page. People, a trusted celebrity news publication, has noted that the two enjoy spending time together when their schedules allow it, but they have their own separate lives. As noted above, the actor and actress have been spotted together several times since their supposed "split."
And finally, HollywoodLife made up a story in February about Foxx being a "father figure" to Holmes' 11-year-old daughter Suri. But People, a much more reliable entertainment outlet than the often discredited blog, reported that Foxx "hasn't spent much time" with Holmes' daughter. The magazine further noted, "They still have their own separate lives and they aren't trying to join them together." Additionally, Foxx has never been spotted with Holmes while she's with her daughter.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
