A story claiming Katie Holmes wants Jamie Foxx to “return” to her amid cheating allegations is fake news. The article is filled with a hodgepodge of untrue claims. And Gossip Cop can bust it all.
“February is over, and Katie Holmes is hoping that her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Foxx, will come back to her,” begins this questionable piece from Celebrity Insider. The site refers to Foxx joking about not dating “white girls” during Black History Month. Though the actor was kidding, the blog is actually alleging, “It seems that the Oscar winner was not joking.”
The website, however, has no evidence to support that contention, and instead merely points out that Foxx was recently seen with Kristin Grannis, the mother of his younger daughter. The outlet then regurgitates claims from Life & Style, which in turn was copying from In Touch, which last week falsely alleged Foxx’s texts with his ex was threatening his relationship with Holmes. The original report claimed his dealings with Grannis, combined with the Black History Month joke, had Holmes upset.
It was all bogus, of course, as Gossip Cop said a few days ago. But from there, the online publication goes on to spread claims from the equally disreputable HollywoodLife, asserting Holmes is “in deep with Foxx and does not want to lose him.” Oddly, though, the site appears to be quoting from a four-month-old post that wrongly alleged Holmes wanted to be “more public” with their romance. Gossip Cop debunked that October tale at the time, as it was both fabricated and inaccurate.
As we’ve always rightly reported, Foxx and Holmes prefer to be secretive when it comes to their relationship because their dynamic is a casual one. In fact, they don’t even consider themselves to be a couple. Neither has any interest in being more public than they currently are, nor do they intend to become more serious.
To recap, this disjointed story from Celebrity Insider first claims Foxx wasn’t joking with his Black History Month quip. It’s then asserted Holmes was unhappy that he spent time with his daughter’s mom. And also it’s maintained Holmes is fearful of losing Foxx. The blog concludes, “Fans are hoping they will resolve their issues.” The only real issues, however, are with these allegations, all of which are untrue.
Holmes is not waiting for Foxx to “return” and “come back” to her. There wasn’t any kind of split where they need to get back together. They never even had a dispute in the first place about Black History Month, Gannis or anything else. Simply, they’ve maintained and are moving forward with the same approach they’ve always had. Basically, they see each other when they can.
Case in point: Foxx went to an Oscars party in Los Angeles on Sunday, while Holmes was in New York was her daughter in advance of a Monday appearance on “The Tonight Show.” The time they spend apart has nothing do with what month it is or whether someone else is in the mix. The outlet’s take on their romance is completely fake.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
