Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are not battling over a prenup, despite a ridiculous report in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this nonsense. We’re told there’s no truth to it.
The latest issue of Star claims Holmes is eager to marry the actor, but he rejected the proposal after she strongly suggested they draft up a prenup first. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Katie is serious about settling down with Jamie, but she’s also very cautious. Katie hopes they’ll never have to use a prenup. She just wants to make sure she and Suri are protected.”
According to the outlet’s supposed source, the main clause of the prenup is that Holmes would get all of Foxx’s money if he ever cheated. “Jamie told her she has no reason to worry, but Katie isn’t backing down,” adds the questionable tipster. “The way it’s written, Jamie would be ruined if he were unfaithful. It’s causing all kinds of tension.”
The seemingly phony source further contends that Foxx keeps swearing “he can be trusted,” but the actress doesn’t understand why he won’t sign the prenup “if [she] really is the only girl for him.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us on background that the tabloid’s story is entirely fabricated. We’re told Holmes and Foxx have never discussed marriage, so it goes without saying that they’re not fighting over a nonexistent and unneeded prenup.
Although Holmes and Foxx keep the nature of their romance secretive, Gossip Cop understands that their relationship is relatively casual. As People has reported, the two enjoy spending time together on occasion, but they have their own separate lives and aren’t headed to the altar. The idea that they’re at odds over a prenup simply isn’t true.
Unfortunately, Star frequently publishes fake news about the couple’s relationship, so we’re not surprised by this latest bogus article. Last month, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for making up a story about Holmes and Foxx being “at war” with Tom Cruise. That was just one of many false articles arbitrarily roping Cruise into their romance.
Additionally, the untrustworthy publication seems to have forgotten it already claimed that Holmes and Foxx were already married. Gossip Cop previously debunked the tabloid’s wholly manufactured story about the pair tying the knot in Cabo on New Year’s Eve, an allegation that time has shown is indeed untrue, just as we rightly said at the time it came out. This latest report involving an imaginary prenup is just more lies.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
