Is Katie Holmes pregnant with Jamie Foxx's baby, thanks to in vitro fertilization, and ready to get married? That's the premise of an article from one of this week's celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively debunk this untrue story.
According to the new issue of Star, Foxx and Holmes "just found out Katie is expecting," and now the Oscar-winner plans to propose to her. A so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, "He's had the ring for a while," and with a baby on the way, the timing is finally right to become husband and wife. The anonymous source relates that Holmes "knew IVF would be the fastest way to conceive," and how she's calling her pregnancy "a miracle."
From there, the untraceable tipster contends, "She's got that maternal glow." "[Holmes] caresses her tummy a lot, like she's already bonding with the baby," asserts the supposed "insider." For Foxx's part, maintains the unnamed source, "He's being more affectionate than ever," and "wants to be with Katie every step of the way during this pregnancy."
And the purported parents-to-be aren't the only ones excited, notes the tabloid. Suri, Holmes' 13-year-old daughter with Tom Cruise, is "happy" about the baby news as well, says the "insider," and has even offered "to go with her mom to all of her doctors' appointments." "Katie can't wait to have this baby and rediscover all those 'firsts' again," such as "that first smile, the first laugh, the first step and so on," adds the tipster.
However, the first thing wrong with the tabloid's tale is that Holmes is not pregnant via IFV or otherwise. Nor are she and Foxx planning to wed. While the magazine's entire article is based on unverifiable claims from an unidentifiable "insider," Holmes' rep has gone on the record with Gossip Cop to say the story is 100 percent false and confirm the actress is not expecting a baby or getting married.
Several months ago, Gossip Cop busted the very same outlet when it inaccurately reported Holmes and Foxx were working out to get in shape for their wedding. At the time, the actor's rep assured us the two weren't tying the knot. It also bears mentioning how the same publication incorrectly insisted nearly a year ago that Holmes was done with Foxx because of his "partying."
Actually, it's a little odd that Star slapped on its front page this week the story about the actress being pregnant when just a few days ago its sister publication, the National Enquirer, alleged Holmes was demanding Foxx get her pregnant or should would dump him. In that report, the tabloid's seemingly manufactured source said Holmes wanted to be "pregnant by early 2020 at the latest," and this week it's claimed she's "already bonding with the baby." And while there was no talk of relationship problems in the latest tale, just a few weeks ago another related outlet, OK!, floated how Holmes and Foxx were getting married and having a baby after they nearly split up.
The truth, which these magazines often dance around, is that Foxx and Holmes are not planning a wedding nor having a baby. They're perfectly content with their relationship as it stands, which is seeing each other whenever they can. Perhaps it's time for these publications to stop birthing phony reports about Foxx and Holmes.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
