One of this week's tabloids claims Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are planning to star in a blockbuster movie together. The story is made-up. And Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to NW, the actress is hoping to co-star with her boyfriend in a major action movie in which they'll play a couple. A supposed source tells the magazine, "They plan to do a full Hollywood blockbuster, playing a husband and wife. They're talking to the best scriptwriters in Hollywood to come up with the perfect plot - a lot like [Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie] did with Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
The outlet's alleged insider further contends Holmes hopes the pairing will help boost her carer. "Hitching herself to Jamie in more ways than one is the perfect opportunity," adds the questionable tipster. "Plus, they love the idea of working together every day for a year."
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but tells us the tabloid's article is fabricated. We're assured that Holmes and Foxx simply aren't developing a movie together. It's worth noting, the couple has always kept their relationship fairly private, and neither has addressed their romance in any significant way.
People magazine recently noted Holmes and Foxx's relationship seems to be getting "more serious," as they've been spotted on many date nights and romantic getaways as of late. However, the pair has yet to publicly acknowledge they're dating and don't appear to consider themselves a couple in the traditional sense. The idea they're eager to celebrate their romance on the big screen when they've yet to even talk about it in interviews simply doesn't make sense.
It should also be mentioned, the major Hollywood trade publications are almost always the ones to break scoops about films in development. Not a single industry outlet has reported anything about Holmes and Foxx working on a project together. It's hard to believe that NW, a tabloid based in Australia, knows more about the pair's career plans than Hollywood insiders.
In fact, there should be no question at this point that the publication has zero insight into the couple's relationship. Last month, Gossip Cop, for example, busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Holmes and Foxx were expecting a baby boy together. Last November, we called out the magazine for wrongly reporting Holmes and Foxx were getting married in Paris. This latest article makes no mention of a child or a wedding. That's because both are nonexistent, as is the couple's supposed plans for a Hollywood blockbuster.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
