Was Katie Holmes "betrayed" by Jamie Foxx recently after she left him in Miami? That's the premise behind a new magazine article that further claims the "infatuated" actress was "devastated" when he was "spotted with another woman" over the holidays. Gossip Cop, however, can correct this highly inaccurate report.
According to a story in the print edition of Us Weekly, and a similar retread of it online, while Holmes was supposedly "devastated" to see Olivia Culpo on the same yacht she spent time with Foxx on days earlier, the former "Dawson's Creek" star is so "infatuated" with the Oscar-winning actor that she's "turning a blind eye." The outlet's alleged insider adds how Foxx "does care" for Holmes, "but his recent behavior makes people question it."
Actually, maybe people should question the magazine's reporting. If anything, it's hardly a one-way street. In fact, Foxx's behavior is proof of his commitment to their relationship. While widely covered how Foxx celebrated Holmes's 40th birthday at Serendipity 3 in New York, what much of the media missed and left out was that the actor flew specially across the country to spend the milestone with the actress and her mother. And 10 days later, Foxx whisked Holmes off to Miami to spend time on a yacht together.
Instead, the tabloid is focusing on pictures of Foxx with a bikini-wearing Culpo and actress Cara Santana on the yacht afterwards, while Holmes went skiing with her daughter Suri. In reality, though, while the former Miss Universe hung out with Foxx, Culpo was in Miami with on-again boyfriend and NFL player Danny Amendola. As for Santana, she was on the boat with her boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe of "Desperate Housewives" fame. So despite the headline about Holmes being "betrayed" and "devastated" by Foxx, in reality it was actually a few people in relationships just chilling on a boat off Miami. And much like Holmes and Suri, Foxx spent New Year's with his daughters Corinne and Anelise.
Remember Us Weekly is the same magazine Gossip Cop busted over the summer when it ran a cover story that unfairly claimed Holmes was "trapped" in her romance with Foxx. On the contrary, Holmes is a strong woman, who's a single mother with lots of professional commitments. At the time of that report, a rep for Holmes stressed that no one [in the tabloid business] really knows" the inner workings of her relationship with Foxx, which the spokesperson added is strictly "their business."
As noted above, clearly the very private Foxx, who has recently been less secretive about his romance with Holmes, cared enough to be in New York for her birthday and to spend time alone with her on vacation in Miami. It bears mentioning the magazine making the latest claim is owned by the same company that publishes In Touch and the National Enquirer, which seem bent on pushing a false "narrative" about Holmes constantly being "betrayed." Of course, time and again afterwards, she and Foxx are pictured together.
For instance, 10 months ago, before they became a bit more serious, Gossip Cop busted In Touch when it falsely alleged Foxx "betrayed" Holmes because he was talking to a "mystery woman" at an Oscars party. In that vague and inaccurate article, the tabloid's source maintained Holmes was "devastated." It's interesting how these unnamed sources use the same words over and over in different stories.
Similarly, Gossip Cop corrected the Enquirer when it ran a cover story in September 2017 that untruthfully asserted Foxx "betrayed" Holmes with a "Russian mistress." In that article, once again a nameless "source" contended Holmes was "devastated," before adding how "she'll walk" out on Foxx if she's "betrayed" again. And yet Holmes and Foxx have remained together, despite the claims from these related tabloids. Gossip Cop has said it before, and we'll say it again: The only ones "betrayed" are the readers of these magazines who are wrongly led to believe Holmes is getting repeatedly burned by Foxx.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
