A tabloid claims the reason Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx went public with their romance at last week's Met Gala is because the actress is pregnant. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.
The two stars arrived together at the Met Gala and posed for photos inside the event after years of keeping their relationship under wraps. According to New Idea, they decided to step out as a couple because Holmes is expecting the actor's child. A supposed insider tells the magazine, "Katie told close family and friends she's three months pregnant, hence why they decided to go public with their relationship at the Met Gala to celebrate and show the world they're in love."
The alleged tipster continues, "Katie was beaming and had a pregnancy glow - telling pals afterwards how she was bursting to tell everyone." The seemingly phony source adds, "Katie's always dreamed of giving [her daughter] Suri a sibling so to be pregnant again is a dream come true for Katie."
The magazine's premise is slightly flawed considering that Holmes and Foxx haven't exactly gone public as a couple. The two stars didn't walk the red carpet together at the Met Gala, but they did pose for photos inside the venue. Although they're no longer trying to hide their romance, the idea they went out of their way to "show the world they're in love" isn't accurate.
Regardless, Gossip Cop can confirm that Holmes isn't pregnant. We checked in with a source close to the actress who assures us the actress isn't expecting a baby. And when we asked her rep about the claim, it was met with laughter. Meanwhile, E! News, a much more reliable source of entertainment information than New Idea, reported that Holmes and Foxx came out of hiding because "they're just done with the whole sneaking around phase." The outlet further noted the two "still don't want to have a public relationship, but it was a lot of effort to keep things under wraps and never be able to go out together."
It's worth noting, Gossip Cop called out New Idea back in 2017 for wrongly speculating Holmes had a "baby bump" at Foxx's 50th birthday party. As time has proven, the actress wasn't expecting the actor's child. The magazine has also been known to make up stories involving the actress's ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Back in March, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely claiming Holmes' daughter Suri ran away from home to see her estranged dad. That never happened. This latest article is more fiction from the unreliable tabloid.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
