Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx never got married, despite a false report from a year ago claiming the two were in the midst of planning a wedding. A rep for the actor told Gossip Cop last year the story was “a complete fabrication.” Time has proven that to be the case.

On April 19, 2017, OK! published a bogus article about Holmes and Foxx’s hashing out the details of their supposed wedding, which was said to be planned for that October. A clearly unreliable source told the tabloid the two were coming up with “a guest list and recruiting the bridal party,” as well as figuring out the reception, which was supposedly to be held in the Hamptons. From there, the outlet maintained that Holmes would wear a dress designed by Zac Posen, while she and Foxx planned to exchange Cartier rings.

The “wedding,” asserted the magazine, was to consist of around 50 guests, including celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr. and Eva Longoria. Meanwhile, Foxx and Holmes’ daughters from previous relationships would supposedly be playing roles in the ceremony. That seemed like a lot of details for a manufactured report.

But as soon as this story was published 12 months ago, Foxx’s own spokesperson assured us on the record that the actor wasn’t planning a wedding with Holmes. Naturally, no ceremony ever took place in October or any of the intervening 365 days. The outlet’s entire article, which was based on information from unnamed and untraceable “insiders,” turned out to be complete fan fiction. As Gossip Cop has noted for quite some time, Foxx and Holmes enjoy each other’s company, but they’re on the same page when it comes to keeping their relationship casual.

In fact, People recently reported that Foxx and Holmes “have their own separate lives and they aren’t trying to join them together.” The credible outlet also noted that the pair aren’t focused “on what the future holds,” but are content having “a good time together.” “It isn’t about anything more than that,” added the trusted magazine.

Despite it being very apparent the two never headed down the aisle, OK! recently took the narrative even further by falsely claiming Holmes and Foxx were “ready for a baby.” Shortly before that falsehood, the publication wrongly reported that Foxx and Holmes were moving into a $30 million townhouse together. As opposed to the tabloid’s unverifiable “sources,” reps for both stars openly shot down those tall tales. The magazine clearly has zero insight into the pair’s relationship, so it just comes up with bogus premises instead.
