Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx did not secretly get married in Paris, despite a completely untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. The couple simply hasn’t tied the knot.
Last month, Holmes and Foxx celebrated the actress’s 40th birthday by going to dinner in New York City with her mom, Kathleen. According to OK!, the reason the actress invited her mom to dinner was to make the announcement that she and Foxx were getting married. An alleged insider says the actor asked Kathleen for permission to marry her daughter, and she gave them the go-ahead.
The couple jetted off to Paris a few days later, according to the outlet’s supposed source, and “pulled off the wedding of their dreams under a veil of secrecy.” The unreliable tabloid says the pair wed at the Ritz Paris hotel in front of a small group of friends and family, including Holmes’ daughter Suri, and Foxx’s girls, Corinne and Annalise.
“Katie and Jamie kept this very small and private… and made sure no one was photographed,” adds the questionable tipster. “However, they did drop around $230,000 in champagne, and treated their guests to fireworks over the Eiffel Tower.” The seemingly phony source goes on to say that the couple’s respective daughters all played roles in the ceremony.
Holmes and Foxx spent the last weekend of 2018 vacationing in Miami, but according to the magazine, the getaway was actually the couple’s secret honeymoon. It’s worth noting, neither star was spotted in Paris at any point between Holmes’ birthday in New York on December 18 and their Miami trip 10 days later. In fact, Holmes was photographed several times in New York during the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
In addition to the tabloid’s story being illogical, it’s also based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable “source.” Gossip Cop, however, checked in with Holmes’ spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it’s untrue. Despite what the magazine’s so-called “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actress’s behalf assures us she didn’t secretly wed Foxx in Paris.
It’s worth noting, OK! has proven to have very little insight into the couple’s relationship. Last July, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Holmes and Foxx had split. A few months before that, we called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Holmes and Foxx were having a baby. And back in 2017, the untrustworthy outlet maintained that Holmes and Foxx were planning a wedding in the Hamptons. In addition to all of these stories being untrue, they’re also inconsistent.
It should be mentioned, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, when it falsely claimed last November that Holmes and Foxx planned to get married in Paris. When the story first emerged, the actor’s spokesperson flat-out told us he’s “not getting married,” while the actress’s rep confirmed the article was made-up. Unfortunately, OK! is now trying to make it seem as if the wedding came to fruition. It hasn’t. This ongoing saga about the couple’s relationship is baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
