Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are not planning a wedding in the backyard of her Los Angeles home, despite a bogus new report. As Gossip Cop has repeatedly noted, the two aren't planning to get married. We can once again set the record straight.
According to the Australian tabloid NW, Foxx and Holmes have decided its time to walk down the aisle. A so-called "source" tells the magazine that the actor is "ready to make things official and give her the wedding she's always wanted." The outlet's questionable insider says the supposed nuptials will be low-key because "Katie wants something simple and intimate with just their closest family and friends. It might even be held in the backyard of her home in LA!"
The suspicious source further claims that Foxx's friends are the one's who convinced him to put a ring on Holmes. "The view was that Jamie needed to settle down into a respectful and adult monogamous relationship instead of treating Katie like his mistress for booty calls," says the alleged insider. "He wasn't making Katie his top priority, but that's all changed now. He can't imagine his life without her."
However, this is all pure fan fiction. As Gossip Cop has repeatedly noted, Holmes and Foxx casually date, but they're not in a serious or committed relationship. There's certainly no marriage on the horizon, in a backyard or anywhere else. The actor and actress see each other when their schedules allow and enjoy each other's company, but neither one is eager to tie the knot.
Also, this isn't the first time that Gossip Cop has had to call out the Australian publication for making up a phony story about the pair's relationship. We recently busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Foxx planned on giving a Holmes a "hip-hop makeover" because her fashion choices are too "prim and proper." Of course, we've also debunked countless other articles about the actor and actress moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, having a baby, etc. None of these milestones have ever occurred.
Unfortunately, we suspect that tabloids such as NW will continue pretending to have insight into Holmes and Foxx's relationship. Gossip Cop, however, will continue to clear up these inaccuracies whenever they emerge.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
