Has Katie Holmes given herself a "revenge makeover" following her split from Jamie Foxx? That's the latest a tabloid is saying about the actress. Gossip Cop can debunk the story.
An article in the most recent issue of Life & Style says Holmes has totally revamped her personal style following her recent breakup with Foxx. The subtitle of the story even says the actress "dumps the frump after ditching Foxx." According to unnamed sources, the actress gave herself a "red-hot mamma makeover" in a "desperate effort to boost her sagging self-esteem."
A supposed source tells the outlet, "She's showing everybody she is an independent and very sexy woman." The unnamed insider further alleges that Holmes is "putting herself out there like she never has before" now that she's newly single. The tabloid then quotes a "relationship expert" as disapproving of Holmes' supposed tactic, saying the actress "needs to do some serious work on her self-esteem."
This source, who doesn't know Holmes personally and has seemingly never met the actress, adds, "She has allowed herself to be hidden by the guy who she was with for so many years. And it came on the heels of years of having her whole life dictated by Tom Cruise." However, the tabloid's "relationship expert" isn't a licensed therapist and has never spoken to Holmes about her personal life or her self-esteem.
Gossip Cop ran the report by Holmes' spokesperson, who went on the record to dismiss the story as "crazy." The actress's rep, who's qualified to speak on her behalf, also points out that the actress "has always been fashionable" and has her own fashion line that she started with stylist Jeanna Yang. In fact, the actress has dozens of awards from multiple magazines and publications specifically for her image.
Holmes has also served as the face of multiple campaigns for high-end fashion lines and even presented at New York Fashion Week. Speaking of NYFW, this article seems to have been concocted simply because the actress stepped out looking glamorous at the event last week, which she's been known to do in the past.
It should also be mentioned, Life & Style came up with variations of this "makeover" scenario when Holmes and Foxx were still dating. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Holmes was spending thousands on a makeover in the hopes of impressing the actor. In March, we called out the magazine for making up story about Holmes getting a $50,000 makeover following a so-called "split" with Foxx. In addition to there being no makeover, the two stars were still together at the time that article was published. The actress's "revenge makeover" is no more realistic.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
