Are Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx adopting a daughter from a poverty-stricken area of New Orleans? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can debunk the false report.
The actress and actor have both been in Louisiana shooting separate projects, and according to Woman’s Day Australia, they became inspired to adopt a little girl during their time in town. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “There have been a lot of official-looking visits to Katie’s trailer when Jamie’s around, and everyone’s thinking it could be lawyers assisting them with adoption papers.”
The supposed source further contends that Foxx had wanted a biological child with Holmes, but the actress “feels like her pregnancy days are behind her” and convinced him they should adopt “after witnessing so many kids needing homes in New Orleans.” The questionable tipster adds, “As soon as she suggested it, Jamie was all for it. He loves how kind and selfless Katie is, but this idea just blew him away. They’ve spent many nights in New Orleans discussing their hopes and dreams for their child.”
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to Foxx, who tells us the tabloid’s report is completely untrue. The actor and actress have no plans to adopt a child together, either from New Orleans or anywhere else. The magazine’s article is simply a work of fiction.
It’s worth noting, Woman’s Day Australia has already proven to have little insight into the couple’s supposed family plans. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in May for falsely claiming that Holmes was “hiding a baby bump” while walking around New York City. One week later, the outlet published a follow-up story saying Holmes told friends she was pregnant with Foxx’s child.
Naturally, the passage of time has proven that Holmes was never expecting a baby with the actor. The magazine’s latest article, however, makes no mention of the actress’s supposed pregnancy. The publication has now switched its narrative to adoption, but the new premise is no more accurate.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid in July for wrongly reporting that Holmes and Foxx’s relationship was on “thin ice.” This latest report fails to explain how the couple went from breaking up to adopting a child together in a matter of months. In reality, the outlet comes up with new storylines on a whim, and when one phony angle doesn’t pan out, the tabloid moves on to the next one.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
