Katie Holmes is not wearing an engagement ring from Jamie Foxx, despite a made-up report that claims the two are engaged. Gossip Cop can correct this fabrication. We’re told it’s “false.”
According to Life & Style, Foxx and Holmes are “ready to take their relationship to the next level,” and the actor has allegedly “already taken the first step to making it official” with a “secret proposal.” A so-called “source” is quoted in the article as saying, “Katie has even worn her ring in front of friends, but she’s always denied it was an engagement ring.” The tabloid’s supposed insider continues, “Katie is thrilled that Jamie is ready to make things official. She’s wanted this for years.”
So, when did Foxx propose? The magazine doesn’t mention that. And how did the actor pop the question to Holmes. Apparently, the publication doesn’t know that either. Yet, somehow or another the outlet’s seemingly fake “source” knows Holmes is “thrilled” that Foxx made “things official,” but doesn’t have any details whatsoever about the proposal.
After inadvertently proving its entire article is made-up, the magazine pivots from its “engagement” premise and contends that Holmes’ ex-husband, Tom Cruise, “feels betrayed” by her relationship with his former Collateral co-star. The publication even quotes the equally disreputable HollywoodLife to back up its highly inaccurate assertion that Cruise is bothered and “betrayed” by Foxx and Holmes. And if the story didn’t contain enough falsehoods already, it maintains that Cruise was the real reason Holmes and Foxx “were forced to keep their relationship on the down low.” It wrongfully alleges Holmes signed a clause in her divorce from Cruise that prohibited her from “publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce.”
There’s virtually nothing other than the spellings of Cruise, Holmes and Foxx’s names in the article that Life & Style got right. Everything else has been previously debunked and disproven. The whole concocted tale about Cruise feeling “betrayed” by Holmes and Foxx is a total lie. As noted, Cruise has had virtually nothing to do with Holmes for more than half a decade and doesn’t care about who she dates. Additionally, that cockamamie claim that Cruise banned Holmes from dating for five years is a myth. That fact that the tabloid reprinted these falsehoods underscores how little magazine knows about Holmes and Foxx.
Back in May, the same unreliable tabloid reported that Foxx and Holmes were planning a secret summer wedding. Well, summer has come and gone and, as Gossip Cop accurately noted back then, the story was a fabrication. Of course, with this latest made-up article about Holmes and Foxx’s supposed “engagement,” there’s no mention of the “summer wedding.” As reps for the two stars have repeatedly told Gossip Cop, Holmes and Foxx are not getting married. Still, we checked in with a mutual friend of ours and Foxx’s and again we were reassured the latest report is 100 percent “false.”
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
