Kathy Griffin obtained a restraining order against her neighbor, Jeffrey Mezger. In audio that leaked online this week, the CEO of KB Home was heard going on an expletive-laden tirade against the comedienne.

Griffin, who also counts Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as one of her other neighbors, and her boyfriend, Randy Bick, called police last Saturday to file a noise complaint about the Mezger residence. That apparently angered the businessman to the point where he launched a graphic, verbal assault on Bick and Griffin, even berating her over her controversial Donald Trump stunt. HuffPost published audio of the encounter on Wednesday, after obtaining it from Bick himself. Mezger’s vulgar rant, which included homophobic slurs, was captured by home security cameras.

Mezger is heard saying, “Hey Randy, go [expletive] yourself. Seriously? You call on my grandkids at 9 o’clock? You’re not even the [expletive] owner. You’re stuck with a [expletive] bald [expletive] who Donald Trump kind of put the heat on. Now you’re calling the cops? [Expletive] you and [expletive] Kathy. You’re not our [expletive] neighbor, you’re a [expletive].” He goes on to taunt, “Let’s declare war, [expletive], ’cause we got a lot to go for. Let’s bring it on, you [expletive].” For the record, Griffin shaved her head to show solidary with her sister, who recently died of cancer.

According to the audio, Mezger then said to Griffin, “If you’re asking Randy what’s happening, he called the cops on my 5-year-old granddaughter, you [expletive]. [Expletive], 9 o’clock at night, oh, this party’s loud, this party’s really happening. [Expletive] you. I’ve done enough trying to be a nice partner. [Expletive] you, neighbor. War’s happening. Don’t wait until we’re gonna bring some things on you. Now [expletive] you.” After the audio was posted online, KB Home released a statement addressing their CEO’s behavior.

The rep said, “Mr. Mezger regrets losing his temper over a supposed noise complaint involving his three young grandchildren in his swimming pool around 8 p.m. on Saturday, while they were being supervised by their mother and grandmother. He apologizes for the language he used, as it does not reflect who he is or what he believes.” Earlier Thursday, it was reported KB Home planned to take punitive action against Mezger by cutting his annual bonus by 25 percent.

HuffPost also reported this was not the first noise-fueled incident to go down between the neighbors, who live in an upscale, gated Los Angeles community, or the first time police were called. The restraining order filed by Griffin bars Mezger and his wife from contacting or harassing the star. Bick also obtained a stay-away order as well, according to The Blast.
