Kathy Griffin revealed Friday she’s no longer under federal investigation for the photo of herself holding President Donald Trump’s fake severed head and has been cleared of committing a crime.

The comedienne tweeted, “I am no longer under federal investigation. The case is closed, I have been completely exonerated. Finally.” As Gossip Cop reported in June, Griffin revealed she was under federal investigation for her controversial photo shoot released a month prior. In doing so, she also accused TMZ of publishing pro-Trump articles. “Hey, (I don’t give a F anymore) [middle finger emoji] but @TMZ & Harvey Levin may u NEVER b under fed investigation like I am now,” she wrote. Prior to the official investigation, the U.S. Secret Service announced it was evaluating whether Griffin’s actions could be considered a threat against the president’s life.

It now appears Griffin won’t be facing any legal trouble over her Trump beheading photo, but her career has taken a hit due to controversy. As Gossip Cop noted, a number of shows on Griffin’s comedy tour were canceled by the venues, while the toilet company Squatty Potty dropped the comedienne from its upcoming ad campaign and CNN fired her as co-host of its annual New Year’s Eve show.

Despite the fallout from the situation, the comedienne hasn’t stopped criticizing the president. Griffin slammed Trump in late June over his proposed healthcare cuts, tweeting, “POTUS likes to punch down. Whether it’s anchors, US Attorneys, or standup comics. Meanwhile, millions are about to lose health insurance.” The stand-up comic also referred to the president as a “f*ckface” on Twitter earlier this month and bashed him earlier this week for banning transgender people from serving in the U.S. military.
