Did Kate Middleton really prevent Meghan Markle from delivering a batch of homemade muffins to Queen Elizabeth? That’s the latest claim from one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can help set the record straight. We’re told it’s all fabricated “nonsense.”

Star blares in a headline, “Kate Hates Meg’s Half-Baked Muffin Plan.” According to the report, Markle baked a selection of black tea muffins for the queen but, alleges the magazine, Middleton stopped the bride-to-be from sending the box of sweet treats to England’s monarch. “Meghan is a great baker and knows Queen Elizabeth loves her cups of Earl Grey tea, so she cooked up a muffin recipe that incorporated black tea as a surprise,” says a so-called “source.”

The outlet’s supposed “insider” further claims Middleton stopped Markle from sending the thoughtful gift to Prince Harry’s grandmother. “She told Meghan that ‘the queen likes what she likes, made to her exact specifications… so if I were you, I just wouldn’t,'” adds what the tabloid terms its “palace-pastry snoop.”

The only thing cooked up was this phony story by Star. It’s completely made-up. Was the tabloid’s source hiding in a cupboard? Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actress who assures us Markle never made black tea muffins for the queen, nor did Middleton weigh in on her “half-baked muffin plan.” Our impeccable insider assures us the entire report is “nonsense.”

Ever since it was revealed in 2016 that Marke was dating Prince Harry, a slew of outlets have wrongly tried to pit the actress and Middleton against one another. The reality is that the two women get along quite well. And that became evident after the engagement was announced last week. When asked about it, Middleton said she was “absolutely thrilled” Markle’s marrying Prince Harry.

Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has had to correct several of Star’s absurd stories about Middleton and the royal-to-be. What’s more, this isn’t even the first time the tabloid has published a bogus report about Markle’s kitchen skills. We recently corrected the magazine for falsely alleging Markle cooked Middleton a “miracle” soup to cure her morning sickness. Much like that manufactured story, this latest one about Markle baking muffins for the queen is also fabricated.
